I was digging around in my "box of junk" this morning. (I`m sure you all have one too;)) I came across the very first knife I made, I was going for the old time look. I`m thinking I might just bring it back, what do you guys think?

I like it. Fatten the handles for a more contoured grip and grind it all the way and it will sell like hotcakes!

My grinds did leave a lot to be desired back then, :o and handles were too thin, but at least the handle was oak. ;)

Yeah, yeah, you know what a soft spot I have for oak. This one is awesome, but I'm not buying one like it until after I play with the passaround knife.

Every knife I made back then was oak, it`s all I could find.

As long as I`m having flashbacks  I might as well show the second one I ever made. This was my idea of a Nessmuk that I donated for a passaround. The picture was taken by our own Kevin Estela, who was involved in the passaround. Once again, the handles were oak.

That is great! I love the combination of that blade shape with that handle! That is not the oak nessmuk on you site is it? I'm LOVING the handle on it!!! wow, that I think (at least by the looks of it) is one of the nicest handles I have seen....it is begging to be picked up and used!

"I was going for the old time look":thumbup: My favorite kind of look! Though I prefer to say "old timey" lol. Those are fantastic John! I am quite impressed with your first ones.
:D

The one on my site is bear`s. The one shown was given away at the end of the passaround. I don`t say "old timey" people might think I`m talking about myself!

This is my favorite of all of yours!
Great looking knife.

As long as we are strolling down memory lane, here is another early one. This one showed up on the exchange a while back. None of these have my "K" stamped on them. And yes, it`s oak.
