Blazing orange....

This is exactly the reason I bought some Blaze Orange cord a while back. I've got about half a dozen lanyards made up so I can pop them on whatever blades or kit i'm taking into the field and not worry about losing them.

Not to be a spoil-sport, but in my neck of the woods, through much of the autumn, orange blends in on the ground better than green. (Maple and oak leaves all over.)

You could use blue paracord instead.

Bobby says to Billy - 'Dang it, I left my blaze orange knife somewhere in that patch of tiger lillies'

Billy says to Bobby - 'I know what you mean, I left my glow blue G10 aurora over there in that patch of Irises'

Gardener says to Billy and Bobby - 'You boys shouldn't be camping in the city botanical gardens'

:D :D :D

that is nice bro. I am all about the orange. IT is a good color and makes a great accenter. So, like Rat much huh?

Heh. In any case, there's lots of choices to pick from. And speaking of glow, check with FOD here on the forums for glowing micarta; I have a set of his orange glow scales and they're pretty darn cool. He makes them in several colors.

Okay - in relaying my little story -I started to get all paranoid about how my wife lost my sheath. Heck - I need to get some colour on those things. At the risk over kill (I am admittedly a bit obsessive compulsive sometimes). The sheaths now sport about 5' of paracord each.

Posted on the Ratcutlery site earlier today. But I decided to give the Izula a little test of batoning abuse. I'm not really one to be content in how I think my knives perform. I want to KNOW how they perform. So might as well give it hell while I'm at home - disappointment might be a bitter pill in your backyard, but can be a serious case of indigestion 2 d along the trail!

Not too surprisingly, the Izula came through with flying colours on my little testing. Great little tough sucker, it is. Here it is making kindling out of a 1.5 y seasoned piece of locus from my yard.

I pounded it right through a couple of really tough knots. Had to get a bigger baton when hitting through these. No edge wear occurred at all. I was really whacking this thing!

Alas the coating did take a bit of abuse - but then again - she's a user!

I couldn't just leave her like that way though. Every gal needs a little attention after a hard days work, and what lass doesn't like a new make over??? How about changing that v-grind for a convex? Oh yeah baby! Convex still needs a bit of stropping to shine it up, but I really like the rats this way.....
