Thanks for coming along for the ride, everyone!

Last week, we ended up with a bit of a "tree situation," leaving much material on which to employ a worthy knife such as this:

Fortunately, (others') machinery carried the day (for now). My chopping froe will probably be of more use in the immediate span ahead, so last night I mostly just held this new blue beauty by the fall's first fire:

Thank you again, Alan-- as if words could do.

I shall say this again, meaning it as full-heartedly as ever (amending "pocketable" to "portable," in this instance :)):

Possessions cannot prevent sorrow, nor produce lasting joy in and of themselves.

But sometimes, the right thing(s) at the right time can point towards (and tether us to) a deeper holding beyond our own means and days, lifting our heads and strengthening our hearts, making us laugh (and maybe cry) and marvel at pocketable friendship made real once again.

At least, that's what I've come to know, often through the astounding generosity of others here. I don't even have to be the direct recipient; you all make me better.

What an incredible thread! Beautiful knife and a outstanding gesture. The generosity on this forum just blows me away.
