Blues' 2009 Blade Show Haul

Nice haul Blues.

How do you keep your pants up with all those treasures in your pockets?

A very tight belt, large pockets and two rather strong legs!. :D

WONDERFUL pile O'blades Elliot!. They are all quite spectacular. I am envious but pleased for you that they all got a fine home. Sorry I missed you this go-round. I'll see you next year though.

Best,

Anthony

That Ray Laconico bowie just may be my favorite, on the other hand that Bret Dowell sure looks nice, however when you get down to it I would have to say the John Howser is probably my favorite, then again those two Mike Zschernys would be hard to beat. Ah forget it, I give up on choosing a favorite from the Blues haul. Just too hard to decide. :D

Nice Elliot! Was good chatting with ya!

Thanks, Don. Feeling's mutual. I'm looking forward to bragging on a knife from you in the next few months when my turn comes around.

Rob, I feel much the same as you do! :p

Really appreciate the good words, all. I'm sure it gives the makers a warm feeling.

Nice truckload of steel Elliott! Beauties all. You have a knack for selecting desirable cutlery!

CONGRATS on the great scores!! I LOVE that Bowie & the Bret Dowell knife the best.

Next up is a stag handled wharncliffe trapper by Mike Zscherny - The knife is 4" closed and is made with CPM-154

Okay, now I'm jealous. That ain't right. They say money won't buy happiness, but knives like that sure will... ;)

Great haul! (Nice pics too.) I've been eyeing one of those new Case Wharncliffe Trappers . . . I think I've gotta get one now.

thx - cpr

What a terrific selection of blades. That Bowie knocks my socks off. All of them are just outstanding, and couldn't be in better hands. Ya done good brother Blues!

That's a real nice bunch of knives you have Elliott. I'm partial to that Wharncliffe trapper by Mike Zscherny. It's one of my favorite patterns. Congratulations.

All of these knives were fine. Great haul Elliott.

Totally agree! Great haul, Elliott.

Hated to miss the show this year, but already have the time scheduled off for next year. Glad to hear & see all of the glowing reports.

Ray's bowie is super! And, Mike Z., what can I say. I need me one of those! :D

Thanks, Joe. Funny thing is, I've come to expect excellence from Mike Z. so the big surprises for me are the Howser and Dowell knives. I can't keep 'em out of my pockets. (And my images of the Howser don't do it justice unfortunately.)

As for Ray Laconico, I'm indebted to Campbell both for the gift and opening my eyes to the man's talent.

The bone is especially nice on the Howser.

And Bret's work is killer.

Was able to pick up a dog leg from Mike and that was my third knife of his in a year, I agree with Blues, his work is excellent. I did pick up a green (Bose bone) dogleg from him, but rather than post one of my not so decent pics ;), I'll wait and post one of Jim's (Coop's) shots.

I figure he will be up for more than a breath of air in a 4 or 5 days. Maybe even a little more. Jim was swamped during the show, but as always it was a pleasure seeing him and his wife Susan. They are both wonderful folks.

Congrats on the new additions to the family Elliott.
They are all incredible to look at in the picks, and I can only imagine they look even better in person (if thats possible)...

Gotta say though, every so often ya see a particular knife that ya just can't stop looking at. The Millenium and the Bowie are both those kind of knives
