I just got an email from the dealer I buy from, and they are holding two of these for me. They are the tan G-10 and combo blades, but one is for my son where the combo blade would be handy in his work. Though I don't really like the combo that much, on a factory knife I can live with it. Don't know when the black L.E.'s will be out but I am having two held for me when they do.

Btw, looks like BM changed the clip to a foldover design that lets only a small amout of knife show out of your pocket.n Still needs to be all the way in, but I will take care of that!!

I decided to go ahead and get one of them as a Christmas gift for my son. But when I called and found out what the price was, I went ahead and told them to send both. He will have quite the knife Christmas this year, with the Adamas folder, and a Bob Dozier fixed blade, either the KS7 Wilderness, or the KM20. I get the other one!

I'll try to take some pics tomorrow of the Adamas knives with their clips.

Due to a mixup in the mail, I just got these a little bit ago. This is really an initial impression;

Definitly a handful! The weight is every bit 7.7 ounces, if not more. They come in a sheath, one was in a black sheath, while the other came in a brown sheath. I'll let my son pick the one he wants first and then take the one he doesn't want. Far as the fit/finish goes, the blade, on both, is squarely centered when closed. The lockup is solid, with no blade play either direction for both. Scales and liners are square with neither one having high/low spots. All in all, excellent fit/finish.

The blade, other than being serrated, is also excellent. The grinds are even and sharp from the box, with both shaving hair with ease. The action is smooth and light, though I did tighten the one I'm keeping up a bit because that is what I do! For some reason the holes do not look as big in real life as they do in the pictures, and the color of the scales is darker in the actual knife. It looks really good to these eye's. Finally the clip, it is a foldover type. The top of the clip comes to almost the top of the laynard hole, probably 3/4 of the way. This is only going to allow about 1/2" of handle to stick out of your pocket. Whether I try and redo this clip, I think it will work to my satisfaction as it is.

As good as this knife looks, and feels, I can't wait for the all black LE to come out. And there you have it.

I just upgraded my phone from a Blackberry Curve to a Blackberry Storm, cost me all of .01:eek::thumbup::), and will take some pics with it once I get it activated. The Curve has a 2mp camera, and the Storm a 5mp. While not great by todays standards, the 5mp should make for a clearer and more defined pic.

I don't have both colors of the knife yet, just that both knives came in different colored sheaths, black and tan. Far as the sheath goes, I like the standard black, but I rarely use a sheath anymore.

I do have a question. How do you pronounce Adamas? Is like the guy on Battleship Galactia, Uh' dom us, or like Add' uh mas? Not that it matters, just curious is all.

Btw, my southern tongue is showing in the respellings.

I just got a black handled version with the fold over clip. Phenomenal knife, an instant favorite! I am debating on getting a tan one as well when the plain edges come out.

Cutter, can you tell if the tan g10 is actual tan g10, or is it coated like the Marc Lee Glory scales?

I haven't seen the Marc Lee Glory, but the writeup from BM says that the scales are Cerakoted Desert Tan. The color is darker than most Desert Tan, and I like it.

Here is a pic, not that you can really tell the color much;

I read that BM beefed up the Axis lock on the 275 Adamas to be 25% stronger. Exactly what that means I'm not sure. 25% stiffer springs?

I remember reading somewhere that that is what they did, but now I can't find it anywhere on their website, unless I overlooked it three times!

Curses, you're right cutter! I didn't see the updated description until now. It doesn't really matter in terms of function, but I would have much preferred genuine tan g10. Ah well, I may just pick up another black one.

Harkamus, the only thing I can obviously see compared to my other BM's is that the axis lock bar is much thicker than on standard axis locks.

I found that spring tension is about the same, but the axis lock bar is a lot bigger than my other benchmades. I think thats what they were referring to. Where the bar sits is also longer on the blade.

I hadn't checked the lockbar, but it does appear to be thicker than standard issue. It does feel a bit stiffer to me than the normal Axis Lock, but that may well be it being new, and the thicker lockbar causing it.

Back to the color of the tan, in certain light it almost looks a green/tan, if you can imagine that! But I do like the color as it is darker than normal tan.

Also, I don't know what the thickness of the steel liners are on most Axis Lock knives, seems like I measured it to be between .040" to .050" a while back. Using the same digital mic, it looks like the liners on this one are .080" thick. Think ZT0200 thick. But I could be off a little, has happened before!
