BM 275 Adamas

I hadn't checked the lockbar, but it does appear to be thicker than standard issue. It does feel a bit stiffer to me than the normal Axis Lock, but that may well be it being new, and the thicker lockbar causing it.

Back to the color of the tan, in certain light it almost looks a green/tan, if you can imagine that! But I do like the color as it is darker than normal tan.

Also, I don't know what the thickness of the steel liners are on most Axis Lock knives, seems like I measured it to be between .040" to .050" a while back. Using the same digital mic, it looks like the liners on this one are .080" thick. Think ZT0200 thick. But I could be off a little, has happened before!

Cutter, is there any traction at all with the G10?

The G-10 has a certain feel to it to me. Not slick, not sticky, not tacky, and not rough, but the Cerakote must add a quality there that I'm finding hard to define, but maybe it's just friction that I'm looking for. The grooves and the holes also help create a firm hold.

Sounds good to me. I believe more in handle shape being more important in grip retention anyways. Looks like a winner, anyone know when the PE versions are supposed to come out?

How did u get yours the benchmade site says they are not out yet

ty, I think I answered that question in another post where you asked the question? I know I typed out a response at least.

Anyway, I'll answer again. Benchmade is Benchmade, and what they say is not always what they do. They do like to release the combo bladed models first, and usually mark the blade as First Production 1 of 1000. or something like that. Why the site says coming soon, they have already come at several dealers..

Another note. I only noticed this under a stronger light, but the right hand side of the blade is stamped "First Production 250 of 1000". You can barely see it. If I had not already wrapped my son's up I would check his to see if it has a different number. I don't think BM usually does an individual number like 250 of 1000, or do they do that now?

The lock bar size is increased...I have both colors...i like the look of the solid black bot the tan looks really cool also with the contrast of the black parts....the fixed blades are very cool also.

710 texture?

Reek, the scales are smoother than the 710. I really think the Ceracoat has increased the friction, if that makes any sense, of the material, G-10. Rubbing your hand over it reminds me of some 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper I have, after it has been used a little. The shape of the grip itself does an excellent job of securing your grip on the knife.

Thanks, cutter17 - I think I get the feel you're trying to depict ;) I'm going to get one for sure - my dealer is going to contact me when they arrive.

I believe you'll like it, and even though this one is a combo blade (not a favorite) I still like it. But as soon as the all black LE's come in, I will be pocketing one of those! I had to go back to the original clip as the one I put on was right in the position of where my pinky finger lies when opening the knife. Did make the original clip a little shorter though. But what I want to comment on is the size of the clip screws. These take a T6 to unscrew/screw, but the screw itself is no 2-56, which is a standard screw companied use. These are closer to a 4-40 size screw. The rest of the screws are 2-56's. Not important really, just an observation I made.

Merry Christmas (belated) and happy new year to all.

I mean to start no "serrious" debate, but would anyone else agree that this Benchmade is the toughest American made folder when price is considered? -For the record, I've yet to handle one.

My 275 Plain Edge just came in the other day, and the thing is a beast. Some people would argue that it is too thick and heavy to EDC, but it's been riding in my back pocket for the last couple of days, and I can't really complain. I'm not too weight sensitive though, when it comes to my knives. I really like the deep carry clip that they used, so this giant hunk of knife doesn't stick out too much from my pocket. A lot of people bash on the D2 steel that Benchmade used, but I think it was a good choice to keep costs down. It keeps a pretty decent edge and it can stand up to hard use, which is what this knife was made for. The lock up is tight with absolutely zero wiggle. Blade deployment is surprisingly fast for such a huge blade and buttery smooth. As far as defensive purposes are concerned, I would be willing trust my life to this knife. The drop point is more than adequate for thrust cutting and it has great tip strength. There is plenty of gimping on the spine, choil, and back end so the purchase you have on this knife is excellent. All in all I think that the 275 Adamas is an awesome knife. There's my 2 cents. I highly recommend this blade!

It will definately be worth it ty!

Another shot of mine;

I love the way the knife looks I'm not a combo edge guy I prefer just plain edge but I didn't buy the limited edition I like the tan color better

this is the one expensive production folder that's really caught my attention. Handle, blade profile, beefed up axis lock, D2 steel, what's not to like? An S3V version would kick butt, but I don't have the money as it is for this guy. Ah well, I can drool...

I'm not really a combo guy either, but decided to give it a try as I had planned to get the tan plain edge, and black L.E. anyway. So far the conbo edge has not been a problem in my use of the knife.

PayetteRucker, this one is worth saving up t get!

I got mine the other day.. and I have to say that I would consider it a value production folder. They could charge in the $200 range for this and guys would still buy it. It's a beast of a knife, yet super refined and smooth. This will compete very well with the ZT line I think.
