BM 940: What do all of you think about them?

I'm very happy to see that so many of you think the 940 is a very good knife. I plan to keep this one ;) . I can hardly wait until next week to get this knife.

pjenkins00, I'm very sorry to hear of your loss :D .

YoungCutter, I already have a 710 and the 806. So I think this will be somewhat of a welcome change from the "tactical" type knife.

Thanks for all your replies and keep them coming.

yep, great knife, i like the 940, though i think i would prefer the clip point version if i had a choice

The 940 is one of my favorite knives: slim, light, strong, classy. I'm definitely lusting for a 941, though.

I'm also waiting for my 940 to arrive,

Can anyone tell me whether it has a lanyard hole ?
I haven't handled one yet , and it isn't clear in any of the photo's that I've seen.

Thanks in advance.

Well I could have gotten a 941 but I don't like the shape of the blade as well as I do the 940. I really like my Griptilian and the blade on it is really close to the shape of the 940 so I think that I will be happy with the 940.

I'm trying to decide which to get next, 940 or 941. I like the looks of the 941, but I think the 940 blade will perform better. I plan to use it regularly for small tasks like boxes, tape, zip ties, etc.

What do you guys think?

Thanks.

I don't yet own a 940 but have been toying with the idea of buying one...

BTW, the 940 SBT was the knife chosen by an expedition that went up Mount Everest. The story was in Blade Magazine a couple months ago, and it looks like the knives (I think a couple of 940's were taken and used) held up very well under a lot of use.

Mochiman1-- great description. My 942 has been my EDC for just under a year. I feel naked without it.

My favorite carry knives have metal handles, this is one of them. Anodized aluminum is about as tough as you can get, my clip is worn, but the slabs look like new. I have to disagree with a previous poster; I like the ergonomics of the 940, it fits my larger than average hands very well. The 940 is in the rotation with a few others - always a Sebenza, and then....

I DO agree with Mochiman1-- great description.

The axis lock is stll not my favorite, but it grows..it grows. :)

John, the 940 is my favorite axis knifel just feels good in my hand.

Especially this one.

Mochiman1 - very well put.

I wish BM would do some more folder collaborations with Warren Osborne. There's just something about Warren's designs that trips my trigger.

Hey Rick, why haven't you converted the clip on that 941BC1BL for left hand carry? ;) I'm still debating between the purchase of a 941 or a custom slipjoint.

Yup, I am! :D

Unfortunatly the red 940 was sold a few months back to help purchase my Lefty Sebenza.

Ken,

I wouldn't have sold it, but for a Sebenza I can understad.

A small Left Handed Sebenza is what I carry every day.

Did you have a BLK/BLK?
