No disrespect, but that is completely untrue. Pulling on the axis lock from one side only will cause no, zero, nada, nil damage to the lock. It may not be as smooth because the axis pin may rub slightly since it may not come back completely parallel to the slot but this is not going to cause any defect. This is one reason people love the axis it is ambidextrous for our lefty friends.

I just got done talking to a distributor that I just started doing business with. They carried Benchmade until January 1 of this year (as everyone knows).

They still had stock on a few knives, but he said after they are gone, thats it. He explained the whole situation (as everyone already knows), but then went on to tell me that they tried this before, but it failed, and they went back to distributorships. His opinion is that it will happen again, and by summer, they wil be going to distributors again.

This is nothing but opinion as to what will happen, but its interesting that they tried it before.
