BM Mini Dejavoo

Like I've said the liner lock on the dejavoo is weak in my eyes because of how easy the lock disengages. Thats also why it might feel so flimsy. I know I dont feel comfortable using my 745 hard.

But 420 isn't a blade steel... Yes, I know that a lot of companies haven't picked up on that yet...but in the companies we're looking at, that's the only place you'll see 420 used.
:D LOL

But more to the issue of the Dejavoo itself, I'm not sure why the examples I played with felt so flimsy--it might be due to the linerlock, or the pivot, or general fit and finish. It might be that I played with three unusually weak ones in a row, but I do consider that improbable.

Don't get me wrong though, I actually really love the design of the knife--and I am absolutely NOT one of those guys that goes on and on about how a lock should be able to hold the weight of a whale or something...lock strength is pretty low on my priority list. Still, I just had a real feeling of doubt when holding the Dejavoos.
No, i hear you. Like I mentioned earlier, I used a modification to make the lock-up feel more secure to me. I think they were all like that. You were smart to skip it if it made you uncomfortable

Well, who knows, perhaps I'm wrong, but I've read that for years. I'm by no means a metallurgist. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I will speak authoritatively on it.
I hope so too. I'd always heard that titanium alloys were stronger and lighter than steel, but I'd never investigated the claim nor owned anything with titanium until the BM745. Learning about the strength:volume vs strength:mass issue really surprised me. Maybe there's been recent improvements in titanium alloy technology?
Other steels would still beat 4Al 6v Ti strength even if 420 doesn't...

Seriously, try the mod i mentioned
It doesn't make up for shoddy manufacturing on BM's part, but it's an easy fix for an otherwise great blade if you already own one.
