Bm Mini Grip or Spyderco Delica 4

I have both. But prefer another.

The Spyderco Native 5 is nice. If you like a more substantial feeling knife - get the G-10 version.

For an all around great EDC I'd get the lightweight version.

I like a finger choil. You may not.

Good luck on whatever you decide.

I have both. I prefer the Delica for an edc. For me the Delica feels better in my hand and pocket. The mini Grip is an excellent knife as well, just not as comfortable in the hand. VG-10 is a very good steel. Not the best, but still very good.

It would be an easy choice for me, because I don't like back-locks and love the Axis lock. There's just nothing appealing to me about the Delica, especially when you throw in that horrid FRN handle. The Grip's handle is plastic also, but somehow feels more substantial.

Tough call. Both rank near the top of my EDC favorites. The Mini-Grip is more comfortable in pocket for me, and the Delica is more comfortable in hand. I like the Axis lock more, but as far as lockbacks go, the feel of the Spydercos ranks at the top for me. If I really had to rank them, I might say: Ritter Mini-Grip > Delica4 FFG > Mini-Grip. Any would make for an excellent EDC knife, so there really isn't a bad choice among them.

I would rather have the new G-10 Mini Grip, but that is MY personal preference.

Like many here I have both and I prefer the Delica.
It feels much better in hand and is the better slicer for me.
Also my 2 Delicas are Super Blue and Hap40 which I like a bit better than 154cm.

In terms of lock I prefer the back lock on the Spyderco.
The Axis lock is too easy to disengage, the CBB is safer IMO.

I got my first Delica and my first mini Grip in the last few months. Both feel good to hold, but I haven t carried either yet. Also got a Native5 frn with s35v steel recently. Early impression is that the Natve 5 might be the best of the three. Worth a look. Can t go wrong with any of these, though.

 I'd love to swap a Ritter M390 blade into a Benchmade G10 handle some day, the grind on the Ritter blade looks more useful for what I do. I really like the Grip handle profile in hand.

Holy heck, this question takes me back. I think there are many people here who had this same dilemma at some point. I went with the delica. I'm happy I did.

Had the mini grip, have the delica 4ffg! I wear xl gloves and the longer grip on the Delica sold it for me! Love the ffg as a slicer too

I carried a Mini Grip for a while, but the grip was so short (3 fingers) I did not like it as much as I thought I would. BM is one of those companies stuck on that outmoded blade to handle ratio nonsense with some of their knives. Plus, the rounded grip does not ride well in my pocket. I bought a Delica and never looked back. The Delica gets me a full four fingered grip, better steel (except for the new G10 Grip), better ergonomics (Spydercos are built around fitting so your cutting is better), and it rides better and flatter in my pocket.

Love BM and the Axis lock, but wow, between those two, the Delica is the one I carry constantly. Just really dislike the way the mini grip feels in hand. It's that it's too short for a full grip. I'll carry the full size, but the mini feels like a child's knife. When we go hiking, my daughter carries it. She thinks it's awesome, but she also gets a full grip on it.

I LOVE my Mini Ritter Grip. The blade is excellent. Apparently, a lot of people think the handle is too small, but it doesn't bother me at all. I'd still like to put some titanium Wilkins grips on it, though.

I carried a Delica for around 15 years and have several. I've now carried a MiniGrip for about the same length of time and I prefer it. I still like the Delica (I know because I just was handling one the other day) but for me, the MiniGrip feels better. I also much prefer the Axis lock, it makes the knife quicker and easier to open and close, and is the stronger of the two locks. This is good, because the Mini is also the stronger of the two knives. I love being able to use my knife with so much less worry. I do things like prying large packing staples that I wouldn't do with my Delica.

As far as making the choice, I would suggest seeing which one feels better in your hand, and better suits your "user profile". For some people the flatter, lighter blade is more important, for others sturdier blade and Axis lock of the Mini are more desirable. They are both beyond question great EDC knives, but one thing I don't think anyone will argue is that the Axis lock is way more fun!

That's the issue, exactly. And you're right, it's very much an individual preference.
