BM Red Class is dead - wich one are you gonna get?

I've had an older DP Rant (from when they were using N690) for a while now. It takes a razor edge and will push cut as fast and as slick as my M4 Gayle Bradley. Don't know if the current model with the different steel is as good or not?
 
I don't really get the snobbishness toward the Red class knives. It doesn't really seem like a point of pride to me that you'd stay away from high-value knives, regardless of whether you can easily afford more costly blades. IMO the Nagara is nicer than many Blue class knives, even if it's made of relatively pedestrian steel.
