BM Rukus

i left the blades with the factory finish, its a lot harder to polish a blade than liners.....

Let's see your Rukus with the white liner cutter, been wanting to see what that looked like for some time. I was considering the white myself.

I'll try to get a picture up as soon as possible. I will say that the micarta grips came sorta dull looking and I used some 2000 grit along with come very fine polishing paste to bring them up to speed.

I'm curious Goldie, if there's anything tricky to taking apart and putting back together again an Axis mechanism. Any pitfalls? Worry spots? Specialty tools?

The knife looks very fine. I can't really tell too much on the liners, but the clip and screw heads give it a classy look.

the only thing tricky is after omega springs are removed, you have to get the axis bar out,& its a little tricky getting back in,i did it a few months ago, i think it was tricky getting the bar back in with both left & right liners together.also, the torx heads for the rear top of the handles are very fine, one that went in didnt "feel" good when it was screwing back in,so care has to be taken on the smaller torx screws, especially when loosening or tightening.dont want to strip them out.when it was all done,it almost seemed like a whole new knife.too bad bm didnt issue it polished or satin as standard. the black finish scratches so easily.thought about doing it to my presidio,too.........

Once you get it down to the frame and take off the omega springs, you can sorta feel your way to taking it out. If I remember correctly I had to slde the bar back and then down while manipulating the blade and then it, lockbar, slid right out. Putting it back together is no problem either. While mine was apart I polished the pivot area on the liners and now it is even smoother than before...............if that is even possible!!

Goldie,

In NO way was I in the market for a BM mini anything. After these pics, I now have one on the way. My wallet thanks you!

Hey guys sorry for the late response, in re-reading this thread I caught perpster asking who carried them. I live in Az and we have The Sportsman's Warehouse here, that's who's selling them. So if you have one close by stop in and hopefully you'll get a deal!

(proguide) that mini rukus is such a great knife, you wont regret it.....
