I recently purchased a knife from BMurray. I asked the condition, and he said, "I don't think it's ever been used". I figured this meant the knife and sheath were in new condition. When I received the knife and looked it over, it was obvious that the knife had been used and sharpened, (multiple scratches on blade, oxidation marks on blade and tang, mouth of the sheath shredded from the jimping). I emailed BMurray to let him know that I was expecting to receive the knife in new condition and was returning the knife to him for a refund + the cost of return shipping. I would not have agreed to the deal if I was aware of the actual condition of the knife and sheath. I have been trying to email him since Monday, when I received the knife, but he has not replied to those emails. I also posted a heads up for him in his sale post to which he never replied. I've noticed he's been active on BF everyday since Monday. His only reply was yesterday. He received the knife and asked, "is there a reason I got the gutter knife back"????? I have no idea why all of a sudden he isn't receiving emails from me? This is why I posted in his sale post knowing BF would email him an alert to the new post.

My email to BMurray below gives a time frame:

Bob,

I find it very unusual that you were able to reply to my emails within minutes/hours when you were selling me the NWA. *Now that there is an issue, you have not replied to any of my emails in 5 days. *

I emailed you Monday to let you know that I received the knife and was not happy with it due to it not being in the condition you said it was, (new). *No response from you.

Tuesday, I emailed you to let you know that I would be shipping the knife back to you and would like a refund. *No response from you.

Wednesday, I emailed you to let you know that I had shipped the knife and provided you with a tracking number. *I gave you the price for return shipping and asked if you would be sending me a check or money order. *No response from you.

Thursday, I post in your sale thread to let you know that I've been trying to contact you. *No response from you.

Yesterday you email me asking why I sent the NWA back to you. *Really?

If I do not hear back from you, I am going to post all of this in the GB&U section. *I will also post it in your sale thread. *Hopefully, you will see it and respond.

Right now you have the NWA and my $126.80. *As I've already mentioned, I would like a refund. *

Open lines of communication are the key...........................

No communication leads to a horrid resolution when a problem arises

tatsu, what sale thread are you posting your complaint in? That's not proper procedure. Complaints go in Feedback / GBU.

Not a complaint. Bmurray was not responding to emails, so I posted in his sale thread, hoping to get his attention. I noticed he was active on BF everyday, so I was hoping he'd see the reply and check his email.

Bmurray was active here on BF @ 7:51 this evening. Still no reply here or by email.

Sometimes silence speaks volumes................................................

Hopefully he chimes in. It doesn't make sense that a seemingly upstanding forum member with good feedback would suddenly go dark and screw somebody over one knife.

Please post pictures of the knife and the email where he says it doesn't look used.

This thread deserves attention. Does he still have your money and also the knife?

There is still a pic in the link above, (his sale thread).

Bmurray was active on BF today at 9:50 am. Still has not replied here or to any of my emails.

Yes, he still has my money and the NWA.

I've been emailing you asking why it was returned and you haven't responded to one of my emails. I dint understand why the knife was returned. You were given my cell number before you sent me a personal check so you could contact me. The knife is a custom that was a catch and release. Show me the emails. Hers the latest I sent you.

By the way. Just looked again and I don't have one damn email from you. How about send me a pm???? I had no idea why the knife was returned. I'll be happy to return the money that you paid for a $200+ NWA knife. My wife and I were scratching our heads trying to see how to reach you. She even tried contacting our bank to see if there was a phone number on your personal check. Just pm me your info.

Found this in my junk folder with no explanation on the 17th. I guess the filter grabbed it. I'm happy to send a refund. I just wished you would have pm me on called me.

From Jason:

The knife has shipped, USPS priority with tracking.

9505510600566048278838

Cost was $6.80

Will you be sending a check or money order?

Thank you. I'd prefer to send a personal check if that is ok. My work schedule is hectic, so it's hard to make it to the p.o. I don't mind waiting for the check to clear.

Thank you for the extra pics. Would you accept $120 shipped? I am not setup with paypal, but I can get a personal check out to you this evening after work. Please see my feedback, (BF member since '99).

Nick just texted me back. 3/16", O1 steel, 4" blade. Very comfy as with all of his knives. Excellent sheath.

Thank you. I was just wondering what the approximate blade length and OAL were?

FWIW, BF emails have been going into my spam folder lately as well. To me, this looks like it has been just a misunderstanding. Bmurray, thank you for responding and taking care of this!
