Yeah, it was a month or two....I had CC fraud for the first time in my life a few months after the BHQ preorder. It could be totally unrelated. I hadn’t thought about it until reading the last few posts.
Haha yes, could have done! The 'Ruhrgebiet' is not far and I drive a BMW...You could have saved 2 days by going and picking it up in person. Flat drive all the way .... half of it on the Autobahn. Less than 2h ?

Quite similar, Böker (nr. 183) has a thicker swedge on top (also slightly longer), is 26 gr / 1 oz heavier (maybe no skeletonising), has less refined and precise jimping. Plenty sharp! All in all, especially with all the goodies (sheath, box, tipprotector, paperwork - 'Zertifikat mit Nummer, meine Herren' and booklet in German and English - plus cloth) a nice and well rounded package. Got the Böker catalog for free. This catalog is extremely well done, with excellent and detailed pictures.
The Böker fits the UF2 sheath precisely, with the expected satisfying click. Blade thickness is the same, as is blade width. The UF2 has the blade edges pulled up higher to a swedge, while the Böker shows a bit more of the flat sides of the blade. All edges of the UF are slightly more rounded too. The UF2 fits like a glove in the cutout in the Böker box.
Handle scales on the Böker are great too, very neatly finished. They are however flat faced on top and on the inside of the handle of the Böker, where the UF2 is totally rounded. The handle screws are different from eachother. Torx on the Böker, Allen/hex key on the Carothers. Conclusion: more hours, care and exacting standards (eye for detail) are associated with the original UF2, a testament to Nathans skills as a machinist. The Böker is a faithfull and quality copy, produced against a lower budget. A good showpiece and I have no doubt it can handle hard use. And oh yeah, glad I caught one.
As an afterthought: what would it look like as a blued version..... hmmmm.
And a few zooming in on the handles:
Slight differences but nothing odd.
On the back of the (free) Böker catalog it says BKR-10 is VG-10 but a powder metallurgy process. Here ends my knowledge on this method but it could very well be considered an upgrade to VG-10 is its cleaner and denser?Maybe this was already answered, and I missed it, but what is BKR-10 steel? Is it a version of 1095, VG-10, or something entirely different?
great details and info in your posts. really appreciate them. thank you.And a few zooming in on the handles:

Yes, fits like a glove with reassuring click! Can one of you guys with the new Boker confirm that it fits in the UF2’s kydex sheath?
My buddy who is not a knife guy ordered one of these Bokers and I was going to send him one of my UF2 sheaths because he will be absolute hell on the leather sheath the Boker comes with. He spends lots of time getting wet fishing and fukin around on his boat, plus he will swim through a swamp to shoot a pig, he needs Kydex.
Powder metallurgy; vg-10 comparable. What's the BKR-10 steel closest to?
And shipped already. They still have stock, $179.99.
VENT ON - On a side note, I was very disappointed how bladehq has handled that knife release. Not only did my attempt at pre-ordering fail multiple times, but the credit card that I used only for this purpose was afterwards charged by somebody unknown with two flight tickets, and I’m glad Mastercard caught it. Will never use them again. VENT OFF
I’m pretty sure that it is still available through a few outlets, now.Damn, I even missed out on the Boker version
PM me if you want one. I would be extremely reasonable with letting mine go.Damn, I even missed out on the Boker version

I had fraud on a my CC in March of this year, didn't think much of it until I saw these posts and then realized I had ordered something from BladeHQ 3 months prior. Not saying that is the cause of it, just very interesting.I had CC fraud for the first time in my life a few months after the BHQ preorder. It could be totally unrelated. I hadn’t thought about it until reading the last few posts.
