Boker Kwaiken CF Flipper Arrived

Fairly new to the forum and keep seeing new knifes to research.
Great looking knife by the way.

The Ti flipper weighs 5.47 ounces and the ZT 0566 5.41 ounces.

The new CF/VG-10 weighs only 4.37 ounces!

Not sure about the backspacer but I believe it was/is Ti.

Dang. The Ti Kwaiken felt far heavier than my ZT. I guess the fuller handle on the ZT distributes the weight better; the Ti Kwaiken felt like a brick. Perhaps it was just very handle-heavy, blade-light. Aw, crap, maybe I shoulda kept it. :)

Oh, and sorry OP, but I should have said in my fist post that you did pick up a fine knife there.

I picked up one as well 0222. Good looking knife but just to many tool marks on the scales for my liking plus the action felt very grity. Sent it back. Might pick one up later in the run.

Aaaaaand these are out of stock at BladeHQ.

Any ideas on when they may have more...?

Well, I hope this is only the first batch, limited or not.

This is my least favorite thing about knife collecting; If you don't have a spare $(Couple Hundred) THAT WEEK, you won't be able to get your hands on certain things :(

Really hoping this was only the first batch of the limited release.

Just like mine. I held both the Ti kwaiken and the CF kwaiken, the Ti kwaiken is much smoother tho I have cleaned and lubed it myself.

I'll hold on to the CF version and see if I can tune it up a bit.

I'm sending my Kwaiken VG-10/CF flipper back to BladeHQ and they have set aside a "good" one. Issues with chips/scratches on the CF and lockup at 80%. Hopefully, the replacement will be a good one. If the lockup is like my AUS-8/Ti flipper I'll keep it and live with any minor CF imperfections. We shall see!

Coming to a bargain bin near you! I wonder how much they will discount it?

I agree 100% :(

The blade didn't look centered on the pics you posted, either. Bummer!

I fixed the centering myself. The picture is correct. It was leaning left.

Of concern is the lock geometry that's different from the nice Ti model I have. It's a great design but the manufacturing needs to match it.

Wow this looks great with the blackwash - did not even know these were in the pipeline. And finally a steel upgrade!

I still love my titanium version, not too much concern with the weight. Just need to anodize the scales and I will stick with that though a frankenstein job with the VG-10 blade from this version would be interesting.

Exactly. I've bought 5:
-green micarta--bad detent; blade would open--returned
-orange g10--fine--sold
-titanium first run--perfect in every way
-titanium second run--off-center blade that can't be fixed
-titanium second run--perfect

I'm done buying them.

"titanium second run" - vg10 or aus8?

I just sharpened my aus8 ti kwaiken last night. I'm still impressed with the quality of the F&F on that one. Hope the vg10 version is that good. Can anyone comment on that?
