maybe i a little old school ,but will let my epoxy set up on the scales first,i use clamps to till they are dried well,,,,,,i just mostly welding rod brass, copper or soft steel ,and cut some fine slits in the pins and epoxy the pins in . before it totally sets up on the pins i peen the hell out of them, i drill my holes slighty larger in the shank, ,, my peening of the pins fill oversize wholes and i get a very tight grip,,,,,,,,i never had one come loose in over 30 years of makeing them.and have tried all the special fasteners,,,,,,,always go back to my peened pins,,,,,at this point is when i start my handle shaping , evening things out ,then when i get the shape i am look for its time for the finnish sanding and buffing them out. started out as hobby, then i had visions of makeing money on knives, now
days i dont even want to sell them ,, i give them to different charitys ,or like for youth gun clubs and archery clubs. to me its just a hobby, i am retired and have all the time i need now..but i am still in search of that perfect knife,,,,,, come close a few times , and only i know of the imperfections, but its stil fun and intresting to keep pushing for that perfect
