Nice! After being bummed about giving up a black/red g10 AD, I decided to look back just for kicks and what do you know? There is its more affordable brother, micarta, just waiting to be purchased! How could I resist at that price? I couldn't. So much for being responsible.

No clue about the boney AD's until I log in ~10:45 .... check the store and all gone. Refresh for a few only to see the store going down for maintenance, hmmm, could it be? Come on down ... one black micarta, one black G-10 and some kydex and leather. Whoomp there it is ... :thumbup:

--but I wasn't looking to "score" anything. I just wanted a knife--just one--for my wife's first "serious" fixed blade. 40th birthday present. Decided to go with a Reeve Mountaineer I instead. It will serve her well around the cabin and in the woods. I wish you luck in reaching your goal.

Believe it or not, buying 4+ isn't always a sign of a person buying to re-sell. If I didn't already have several AD's, I probably would have bought more than one.No offense intended--really
He could also be buying as a proxy for other people who can't get to their computer or he could be buying them for gifts (and what a gift it makes).
I'm not saying I know that's the case and I'm sure there are people buying to re-sell but the truth is that a lot of people buy to keep and they have to deal with the same issues you had.
I wasn't even planning to buy but I got mine and it was pretty easy.

My only point was that if you'd given up, you gave up too soon. My guess is there are still more coming. The CRK is a fine knife -- I'm sure it will suit your wife very well.
