BOS S30V mini alpha hunter ?

i ask to the seller, he said that design the position of BOS s30v, in order to avoid erased by opening and closing , because BUCK refuse using stamped.
meanwhile, he refuse the BUCK's another kind of design, that is stamped but shallow, like to BOS ats-34 of 923CCSLE. and that is recommended by BUCK custom shop.(i have another cherrywood 110 that use this stampd on the tail of blade. both of BUCK/cusotm logo/USA and BOS S30V on other side).

I have a new 110 (with S30V) from the custom shop due to be delivered today. I'll follow up later with photos that show whether or not they are still stamping the Bos logo or have "refused" and gone to the laser etch out on the blade. Should be interesting.;)

The new one just showed up and the Bos S30V is stamped just like all the others I have and have seen. I'm going with the theory that the one's that xia63 has with the laser etch out on the blade were done "after market" to increase the value of a custom shop with a 420HC blade.

Sounds very let people angry. Dave, can I see your new custom S30V 110?

Maybe we can ask BUCK, whether such an 110's order that laser ehched the BOS S30V on that position? this is not a small case.......this version in China has sold more than 100, until now and sell......I believe that the influence essentially to reputation of BUCK.

:D Here you go! This is from Joe Houser just today. I believe this will clear things up. Congratulations xia63, your 110's seem to have been confirmed as the real thing!

"This just in.....
We actually had a dealer order 65 of these, with specific instructions to etch the logo on the hollowgrind. The dealer is in Hong Kong.

This is the part number: 0110OKSIC-B This is the catalog number: 4932

I never would have believed it if I did not see it with my own eyes! ;-)"

Congrats, Xia!

This is why I said:

Well, don't despair until Joe Houser responds with an official Buck answer.

Many strange and suspicious knives have been pictured here lately and some turned out to be ok. Who knows? Your odd etching could be ok, too.

These are indeed crazy days.

:)

Not only is it real but (1 of only 65).Congratulations xia63, that knife has become good chi.:)

indeed good! thank you mr. Joe Houser. thank you guys.
i study from you on BUCK knives forum. especially make friend with you.
everything is good, thank you everyone!

anyway ... i have reason to believe that my S30V 196rws was normal.

so .....i try to be a member of BCCI, like you.

I'd say it was a mistake to fill this order.

Now that it's done, expect 6500 of them to show up.

Etching looks crappy and is now offering a new pathway to sell fake knives.

Stick with stamping, BUCK!!!

Why this version no official records?
Who can tell its origin?

thanks
Actually there is record of them on BUCK's site and they are currently in stock still but they are a very limited run so could make a decent collection piece or great user... Far as I have heard though the quality control is off and there are fit and finish issues, hope that you got a good example! I own the ATS-34 version and love it....

Actually reading thru this thread is pretty interesting.
Sorry guys I know it's old but there's some cool info here and I'm still a pup at this Buck thing...…...

I really like the mini alpha's and have one in my cart at C-------a's.
Skinners are cool!
