Thats was my first thought when I picked it up, kind of like a Boss Jack XL. Also made me realize the similarities between the Hog Badger and Boss Jack, you could see it as a Boss Jack with extra “height”

That ricasso seems rather large.

It feels like what I think a nano SHBM would feel like. It has good balance and feels like an amazing all purpose knife!

Same, i don’t see a reason for it and it is kind of killing this model for me.
I generally don’t like choils either and am not a fan the way these look personally.
I did just order a tgulb which has a choil. i wish it didn’t but the look of it doesn’t bother me.

Thumb Jimping would have helped hide it somewhat and higher micarta .

The ricasso is easy to choke up on and treat like a choil. The more I handle this thing, the more I wish I had ordered 10 of them, haha. It has a great weight and balance for getting work done.

Seeing all these pics is getting me excited. Mine won't arrive until Tuesday. I went with the flat choil and I already wish I would have ordered a few more.

From my experience handling many models, the ricasso is utilized by Busse to help balance the knife properly. Is the balance point of this one right at the front of the handle? Aside from dedicated choppers Busse tends to make the balance very neutral and makes it feel more lively(light) in hand.

I'm excited with anticipation, don't mind me.....but keep up with the pics everyone! Hoping to spy a flat choil in the wild soon lol

The balance teeters right at the front of the micarta. It's lively for sure and those hand textured slabs of micarta compliment it well. I did not like the same texture on the camp mistress. It's strange that I jive with this blade way more than I did the NFCM.
