botach tactical is currently selling a blatant ripoff of datu wordens travel wrench kerambit.it is in pretty colors and the name was altered to traveler wrench.dont support this ass in his thievery.to read the story goto http://kellyworden.com

Yep, I had an experience with Botach myself.....wouldnt deal with him even if he was giving stuff away for free!!

I never would have ordered anything from Botach, but after seeing that not only do I think Botach is a POS company, I also think that BK Botach is a POS.

On December 19, David Eastham of Botach Tactical, using the name davidtactical, sent me an email about an earlier post I made about this ripoff of Kelly Worden's work, asking me to reconsider.

Of course, this only makes it worse.
Cougar Allen listed him as banned for this:

davidtactical aka david@botachtactical.net joined up just to use the Bladeforums email system to manually email members to try to get them to buy from BoTach.

Botach is an absolute disgrace :thumbdn: It amazes me how a company with such an abysmal track record can continue to stay in business.

Because there are people that care more about getting a good price than they do about dealing with an ethical company. There seems to be quite a few people that figure that as long as it isn't them being cheated, that it is fine to support companies like Botach.

Botach's reputation is in the sewer.

Anyone wanting to purchase from them should do a search (I did).

Since we can't count on that, the least we can do is keep this nice little
thread up on top, where it belongs.

thanks for the heads up...botach won't see any of my cash...

wish there was a sticky of the smeghead companies that inhabit the knife world

Well, I did my search - immediately AFTER sending in two orders to Boatach within the last hour. It's late and I'm a little tired. The orders were for Beckers, hard to find anywhere now. I should have known better. After reading the huge number of negative posts about this company, I emailed back to cancel if not in stock. I also left a phone message to do the same. At least everyone on this site will now have a real-time example of how Boatach treats its customers today. I will reserve my opinion until tomarrow. I'm not too encouraged when I read so many criticisms - going back to 2001!

Stay tuned.

Tuesday, Jan. 10. -- After emailing and calling-in requet for cancellations on both orders IF the items were not in stock - called again this a.m. They had my email in hand, said the items were not in stock. I requested the orders be cancelled, with email confirmations. Had cancellations confirmed within 10 minutes.

Botach sell knives they don't have yet tell you over the phone they're in stock. :thumbdn: :thumbdn: :thumbdn:

Surprised they're still in business. They've screwed the pooch so many times it's almost funny.
I guess there's always a new batch of consumers coming along who need to find out for themselves.

I wonder. They sell a lot of security-oriented equipment, presumably to police, military, etc. Maybe they prioritize them and specifically prioritize large orders.

wow. several months ago i was at botach tactical and saw the traveler wrench near the registers. i grabbed a couple, one green, one tan. i had never heard of them before and liked the design.

now, how can i tell if mine is a rip off? it says traveler wrench on the side and has sizes in 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, and 9/16.

i certainly dont want to support botach's rip off of the design.

Ah, I've had a couple bad run-ins with botach. This was before I found out what they were all about. I ordered a rail system for an AK and paid for next day air. Yeah, they shipped it to me two and a half weeks later. I wrote them a WTF email and asked for the twenty extra bucks back for the next day shipping. No reply. Oh well. Later (late august) they had a great deal going on for some glock mags. I got three. One 23 mag for my buddy and two 32 mags for me. I got one 23 mag and two 22 mags. Hmmm, easy mistake, I guess. Their customer service is like pulling teeth. I must have called a dozen times. Half the time they don't answer, the other half they just pick up the phone and then hang it up. I finally got through and the lady told me to send the mags back and they would make good. I sent the mags back, but they didn't send me anything. I did the phone routine again and they finally told me they didn't have any in stock, but they would send them to me as soon as they were. Ok, so I forgot about the mags for awhile. Then I remembered (november). I did the same old phone routine again, this time I must have called about sixty maybe seventy times over a couple days. No answer or they just hang up as soon they pick up the phone. I left a bunch of messages on their answering machine and a few emails. They finally did send me the mags, though. Still, it left a bad taste in my mouth for botach.

Botach is absolutely the worst company I have had the displeasure to deal with. Stay away. Far away.

I read an account a long while back where if you show up in person, and you're law enforcement or similar, you get special deals. It's probably the local goodwill by doing that that keep the heat off.

not quite, they only sell in person to law enforcement. but no deals other than what they advertise on their website.

poor business practices and lousy customer service are not criminal. there was no copyright infringement on the wrenches, only unethical behavior. copyright infringement wouldnt likely be handled by any local law enforcement anyway.

im not defending botach, but your claim is unfounded.
