Did I just buy myslef a heapin helpin of frustration from buying from these guys? I ordered a knife due to the great price, they charged me, but have heard nothing as far as shipping, and there website gives no info. Now that Ive ordered I see nothing but negative feedback on them on the net.

The good thing is I charged it so if they try me, charge back time!

Welcome to Bladeforums! I'm glad to hear you charged it.

Let’s see if we can find the right forum …

They have a poor reputation here.

They have a poor reputation everywhere and have for many years now. I know you can't use the search feature here at BF, but just google them and you will find complaints about them all over the place.

You will sometimes get lucky and get what you ordered in a timely manner. Most of the time you get charged for your order, wait forever, never get replies to your emails and have a horrible time getting them on the phone. Even when you do get ahold of the company, nothing is likely to get done. They are a waste of time.

Well that sucks, and sorry for posting in the wrong forum. I will attempt to contact them tommorow, give them a few more days, then charge back time. It amazes me that in this day and age, with people not having tons of disposable income and such, that an operation like this can still succeed.

The one time I did order from them it took a little while, communication was poor, but I did eventually get my stuff and it was priced well.

I got lucky recently , ordered over the phone when they had 5.11 boots on clearance for $20. Both times I had em at my door in under 48 hours.

HOWEVER...
my bud in Portland ordered the same day , a week later he called , back--ordered , no notification , not told at time of order.

If you need it in a hurry - go someplace else. If its on sale , order by phone and ask for verification it is in stock. and hold yer breath. ;)

Man I was just over at complaints.com and good ole Botach's got a ton. LOL. Its funny because I worked for Homedepot.com for 3 years so I know these internet retailers from the inside. If there service is this dismal, something fishy is going on. They charge cards before the item even ships, that costs them money if the order gets cancelled, charged back, etc. I would be willing to bet this company is a front for something. Im half inclined to just do a chargeback and not even try to contact them, but that would be stupid. The price I "already" paid for the knife I bought is really good and I would like to have it.

I will keep you guys updated.

I've ordered from them about five times in the past 4 years. They screwed up my order one time, sent me the wrong sized items and failed to respond to my emails and phone calls. So it went unresolved. I swore never to buy from them again, but they are the only place I can find $1.00 Sanyo lithium 123 batteries.

I will continue to order more batteries from them until they screw that up. They haven't screwed up a battery order for me yet, which is why I will only order those batteries from them.

Welcome to Bladeforums!

Don't spend too much time waiting on Botach. Look at the head of each page here:
General | Community | Makers | Manufacturers | Exchange | Archives

Click on Exchange. Look for FEEDBACK for recommended dealers and look at For Sale by Dealers to find good guys to buy from, whose prices probably match or come close to Botach. Without the aggravation.

If you do a little reading you'll see when you call and ask them if what you want is in stock, they lie.

How do they stay in business? They have two kinds of customers: newbies who don't know enough to search for complaints before ordering, and suckers who are gambling on the chance that they'll actually receive the goods at the low prices advertised.

Im definetly in the former category, oh well, chargebacks work %100 of the time.

So I eamiled them last night inquiring as to the status of my order, well low and behold, today I get a response saying my order will ship in 4-7 days! So far, so good. Maybe they are getting there act together.

I ordered a pair of woolrich elite shorts, got lucky, read all the horror stories after the card was run. I did get them on time.

botach is located in los angeles, near crenshaw and vernon, not far from the jungles and the crenshaw mall.

a majority of their business is to law enforcement, and i have been inside their warehouse/storefront. they actually used to be a class 3 weapons dealer.

the owner is a snake, and the company is run poorly. i really dont know how they stay in business, other than from walk in sales (leo only), i cant understand how they generate any sales.

many of their goods are factory seconds or refurbs. i only bought from them if i went in and handled the actual item i was purchasing. but after they bought/authorized the manufacture of a stolen design of a plastic kerambit/wrench, i stopped buying all together.

their m/o is to ignore phone calls, ignore emails, and generally dont respond to any messages left. from what i have read, they eventually ship all items paid for, but its a gamble on what condition the item will be in.

Not only that, but quite often, after going through all the trouble to get your order shipped, they will send the wrong item, or only a partial order. Then the whole thing with ignored phone calls, etc., starts all over again.
