Bought a knife, don't know what to do. Please help.

your 3 spyderco choices you mentioned are all pretty different, haha... Spyderco has such a large selection of quality folders, you could pick just about any and be happy with it. I'd recommend getting a feel for what size range you want first, and start searching around from there.

The centofante is great, slim and light for comfortable carry, doesn't quite fill your hand if you're going to be doing some harder use, also the blade is quite thin. But I love the thin blade. I'd recommend an endura or delica as your first, like someone else said. They give you a good idea what to expect from Spyderco. From there you might realize you want bigger, or smaller, or serrated, or plain edge, or a different lock type, etc...

If you arent familiar with sharpening it would make a good learning piece.
Great advice.

Actually, the first two knives I purchased on my own dime were overpriced Smith & Wesson S.W.A.T. from eBay, back before I cared about steels or quality. I still have both here in front of me on my desk. They are my go-to knives for around the house beaters and were very handy when learning to reprofile in convex.

I'd say keep it!
There is every bit as much to be learned from a knife you hate as there is a knife you love.

We Be Knives is a great store. I was with my family on the pier, and I sat down on a bench and looked up, and saw the store. I was thinking earlier, no chance to look at knives while I was on vacation, but there it was right in front of me. I was a kid in a candy store. I bought an Al Mar, Falcon I think. I spent alot on it, but it was the going price, and he did give me a little off the retail. It was a nice store. I carry that one quite often.

Keep it, and chalk it up to the cost of your education. I have one of those SWAT folders around, I bought it around 1998 and learned to sharpen with it and still use that knife to cut sandpaper and the like.

Alright thanks. Can anyone give me a link to a good thread about sharpening? I will admit, I am lazy, but I am also not quite sure where I'd start to look.

Thank you all!
