My favorite time of the year is coming up this Saturday. This is the time when I get to spend hours in nature, pitting my skills, against an animal that spends its entire life avoiding danger. I love to gun hunt but the thought of getting a deer close enough for a shot with a bow is just exciting. Even as I type this my heart is racing in anticipation. So to all of the hunters out there, I wish you good luck and safe hunting.

Thanks. Good luck to you as well. I took this year off bow hunting. I am doing Modern Firearm next month in Eastern Washington. Chasing white-tail. Can't wait. A few pieces of INFI to break in, so I hope I get something ginormous. ;)

I am thinking about trying out bow hunting. . . It is awesome to see all the guys around the shop get ready for hunting season. It is like when us girls get ready to go shopping :D

Of course we're serious about shopping!! I'll put it in terms you hunters can understand. When we go shopping, its all about finding the best deal and the perfect outfit. This is very similar to getting the perfect buck. We have to outsmart other women who are looking for that perfect outfit as well. Tirelessly hunting through vast amounts of racks and many different stores to find the shirt that isn't too tight or too loose and matches that pair of slacks or that perfect skirt. Then there's the hunt for the shoes that accent the jewelry without making the outfit look tacky or too over the top. It's a ruthless world when it comes to shopping. You've gotta be quick and cunning or you miss out on everything.

Imagine if you could only shop for 3 months out of the year. That would make it more interesting.

I typically only go shopping when I know exactly what I'm shopping for. So three months out of the year doesn't sound like that bad of a deal :D

You venison hounds should come out here. Between bow and shotgun you can take 2 a day from the first week of September until the middle/end of February.

Saturday morning cant come soon enough. Stands are hung, bow is sighted in and broadheads are sharp. Opening day of bow season is better than Christmas to me. I love being outdoors and chasing tails. Good luck to everyone and stay safe.

Voracious,
Where is this magical two deer a day land of which you speak? Any interest in housing a hunter for a few months?

You know I live in New Jersey. I can put you on some crazy honey holes bro. Tons of public hunting you just have to usually walk a ways to get away from da Joeys.
You're welcome anytime. We just upgraded to a 4 bedroom farmhouse so plenty of space.
All the hunting info is online.

Man I guess I just never thought of New Jersey as a hunting paradise. I have to admit though the only part I have seen much of was covered in concrete. Two deer everyday would be my heaven.

Shoot man there's miles of big woods but often the small lots are more productive.

Good luck and safe hunting everyone. Fall turkey starts the 14th of October and I can't wait.

Good Luck everyone!!! I still say I wish we had Whitetails but the little Black Tails fill in some. Be safe out there and you boys and girls up the stands make sure your tied of.

You are lucky. We are in one of the few counties that does not have fall turkey season. Best of luck.

Garth in most of SC there is NO limit on Bucks. I know more than one hunter that have taken 3 at a time.

Here in Missouri, we resident land-owners can take several deer; archery only, firearms, and alternative methods.;) I never have to leave my property to hunt OR fish; sure beats living in Illinois!:D
