I like that ideer! Cant wait to see how it turns out. Hey....that sheath is awesome! I think that one has been to Texas at one time? Lucky man he is!
 
Yup that one made a trip to Texas awhile back.

Fingers crossed for a triangle box today. I'm giddy with anticipation. Amazing the joy Auntie can provide with a triangle box package! Hope the mail carriers are gentle with it. I'm near ready to start on my triangle box chandelier. Still working it in my mind.
 
I got a few of them boxes myself. Short ones, long ones, even some with green bubbles inside;) That last Bura AKB i got almost ate its way out of the box. The mailman had to stuff it back into the box. He looked at me funny too with that "I hope it all there" kinda look? Never had that with Auntis packing tho. They come very well packed from her.
Cant wait to hear more on the Gelbu! Thats a nice one! Id love to have one about 21" for bush whackin around here.
 
Well I finished up the bowie that I got to keep for myself. I'm pretty pleased with it even though I might be slightly biased in my semi worthless opinion. I just tickled that it fits the same sheath as my first generation short version. I can easily mix and match, dress for the occasion etc.
I did a little skip line up front and full checkering on the back. Add's a nice texture which makes the knife a little easier to handle.

Man! I like that alot! Sweet ideer! Hey... you could even do a full checker racing stripe down the middle like that skip line top and bottom and it would look cool as well. Hmmm? You and Pugs are getting downright creative carving and stuff! Well done Bawanna! That might be my favorite yet:thumbup:

I needed this full view to really appreciate that checkering design. Dynamic looking. Like it's flying in the air or something. :thumbup:
 
Auntie tells me she only has 8 or 9 more little bowies and then it will be some time before we see anymore.

Who can say, we may never see anymore but as good as they are I suspect we'll see them again.

I guess if you on the fence you might want to contact Auntie soon.

Maybe it has to do with Bhakta's situation, since he's no longer on the kami roster at HI.
 
Probably so, I think he's kind of sub contracting. If I was him with Purna and Thamar on board I'd be worried, very worried.

They've been too popular for those to be the last ever. Do not fear. Auntie has good business sense, she won't discontinue a popular model just because she sold out of one batch. She's more likely to have a bigger batch sent over next time because they've been popular.
 
I agree, they just have new and different things happening right now and the interest fell off a bit. I don't think the longer versions were quite as nice as the originals, but the 4 I just got were every bit as good so that theory isn't completely true.

I don't think they are gone forever and shouldn't have implied that but Auntie did say it would be awhile before we see any more.
 
I did feel like a bit of a Bowie hog there but I got 3, one for each of my son's and son in law. Just sent the son in laws home with my granddaughter, the 4th was a gift from another member and auntie sent them all together.
I still have trouble sleeping at night but the guilt is subsiding somewhat.

I've gifted a few before that so it's not like I'm hogging them all to myself. I still feel guilty.

Easy enough to email auntie and ask for one and then no worries. Want the handle checkered etc, just let me know, happy to do it for ya.

and i am not trying to sound like an a-hole here, seriously asking what else i should be adding? i know with the DOTD it has to be in a certain format and everything, which i feel i did include in these as well.

sometimes I have sent a mail that gets a response in minutes the same day fzr, other times I have waited 3 weeks, it can be like that, I am sure she will take care of you!

First... You should not post private communications on the forum unless absolutely necessary due to dire circumstance.
Second.... She may not have gotten your email. You should resend the email with explanation that you've already responded or call her to complete the order.
