Box o'knives

Yes, the Schrade Deerslayer market is a seller's market right now. I suppose I could double my money or better on the two dozen or so I have bought over the past four or five years.

But... if you want a good one to use and don't mind a bit of patina on the carbon steel blade, a very good user can be had for less that $50. Sheaths are still available on eBay too.

Here is my fanciest one, a special order made for Ducks Unlimited Canada with a fileback spine and laser cutout blade. Only a few were made.

It is shown here with the custom sheath made for it by Paul Long with doeskin lined hand tooled Hermann Oak leather and hornback aligator inserts.

The Buck 119 looks to be in good shape. Nice find. Give mom an extra hug.

Honestly that thing is my most used! Ive beat nails into 2x4's with the handle the other side shows that. and the spine ive used to baton with. but it still is a great knife

Aw man...I remember the Rambo knife phase. hiked five damn miles to the Saturday Flea Market to pick up my first one. Think it was $8-$10...seemed like a freakin' kings ransom at the time, but...it was a worthy sacrifice. I knew between that, my Single shot .22 rifle and my #45lb recurve bow I woulda been able to take on the Russian army any day of the week!! (If they were foolish enough to invade Senoia Georgia before they got to the other states)

Red Dawn was still brand new back then too....:o:D

Thats awesome! I got mine outta Gun magazine ad. LOL and yeah. I was like you red dawn was new, except no bow, and a nylon 66. Bring them Reds on and me and my dog woulda gave em a run for their money to say the least. LOL

Is that an actual Gerber Guardian Backup? Or the Parker Cutlery knockoff?

Parker my friend. STill a good knife IMO. Was my grandpa's. My uncle got it for him one Christmas (many moons ago) and he shelved it. It is basically NIB w/out the IB :D Surgical steel. Works for me

Great ! I have a Parker "Guardian" also. Got it on a trip to Colorado about 1984. Yours is the only other one I've ever come across. Good little knife...the sheath is great too...spring retention clips for carrying inverted, etc.

BTW, I also have a Buck Vangard, identical to yours...Rubber grip, brass guard & pommel. :)
Thanks.

Cool! Knife twins :D I think that the Parker is about as old as the one you speak of. And I like the sheath too, just that clip needs to be a little more stout IMO. I tried to use it for a boot knife when I first got it, but it was all over the place cuz the clip isnt that great. She is basically a "safe queen"...cheap one..but that is still her function.

Mine too, (safe queen)...and anyway since double-edged is illegal for carry here...

And yep, the belt clip sucks...typical of 80's type clips, I think.
