I don't think I have an Ulster large/slim stock, but I found these built on the same frame as your 55s, Hal. The KK has no tang stamps.
The Primble has a hollow ground saber blade!

I do not recall seeing a 3 7/8" or 4" slim stockman in the 50's Ulster catalogs, just the squared 98 pattern.

Plate 24 looks like a possibility.

Is there a list of sizes that accompanies that plate #24?
