Boy I feel like a noob

I'm not so sure I agree with that being done but, who am I to judge? Maybe I should do the same. That would be one way for me to get some INFI while I wait for things to pick back up at work.

Don't.

Yeah... I threw one of mine back too. Congrats to the originally disappointed hog whom had missed out.

You will notice on some special offerings that Jerry has actually placed a caveat that the buyer *cannot* resale within a specified time frame. Often these have been "thank you" sales that were at unbelievable prices.

Still yet, if threads like you've referenced become a trend, selling not a knife but an opportunity to purchase a knife, I predict we may see more gentleman's agreements between Boss Hog and Hogs about resale.

I think you did the right thing.
Buying simply for profit is not the "HOG" way. :thumbdn:
Scooping up all that you can (27) for trade fodder, now we're talking hoggish behavior. :foot:

Just my 2 cents worth and not meant to imply anything about anyone.
Just an opinion and we all know that opinions are like xxxxxxxx, everybody has one.

Well the guy offering the "slot" does have something of value.

But then say so does a guy that consistently scores Game Wardens.

So say Foo posts up for trade that for a Scrapper 4, he’ll try and get the trading partner one of each of the remaining GWs.

Or say Cobalt offers his analysis of vintage Battle Mistresses for the next six months to buyers for a Black G-10 Warden.

Eventually you get to a bad place.

What... somebody need a personal shopper for knives??? I'm in... I love to spend other peoples money! :D :D :D

Edited to add... I know what you mean Tony... just couldn't resist. I say, if you can't buy the knife, throw it back in the trough! If you want a scrapper and missed it, secondary market. But then again, I'm not entirely sure I understand what he's really after in that trade. Maybe with your post... he'll clarify it a bit.

I'm not sure I get it. Is this guy on the other thread offering his position to buy a SOW in exchange for a free Scrapper?

If that's the case I'm not sure how I feel about that. On one hand it is a free market, and demand sets the conditions. However, I feel like this may set a precedent that may get out of hand, quickly.

I misunderstood his post and tried to make an offer on the knife but it is indeed his position in line that is up for trade.

I don't think Busse should let him do that. If he doesn't want to pay for the SOW, it should go to whoever was next in line. Obviously, there would be ways for the involved parties to get around that, but at least it would make it more of a hassle for them.

Well, he could always buy it and mark it up $597 to $900 the second he gets it. Oops, wrong Exchange thread

And I was thinking Aaron got some kind of S.O.W. sweetheart/Clark Bar deal. Whew!! ;)

Thats my exchange thread, and on a post here at the same time I said I was testing the waters.
It was also to act as a warning so that any of the regular Busse board members would not go after it as they would know what it really sold for origionally.
The regular price according to Jerry was almost 800 dollers, he sold it at a discount as a Christmas Special. Christmas is over. I learned on the exchange that you get what you can when you can, no one is a dealer. If you can't beat them join them. Commentaty is fine, details = offer=edit

Hammy if this is inapropiate please edit. thanks

You mean you would have payed me for all those questions you asked me?:foot: Dang it. I am such an idiot.

The things people will do for a Street Scrapper 4. :thumbdn: :thumbdn:

I'm glad I got six (and two SOW's on the way also).

This is an interesting concept, I don't think the shop will allow you to specify who takes your place in line. That leaves 2 options.
Set the deal before hand where once the S.O.W. comes in you ship cash and the scrapper, not bad for the buyer, same as paying a markup on the knife on the exchange.
Or preship the knife and cash to the seller and hope he honors his end when the knife actually ships from the store. I would have to have a really good relationship with the seller for this one.
I don't see how he can actually be selling his slot though without the factorys consent and help. If they are willing to do this things could get very interesting here.

On the next ganzza I could hog 10 blades, then when I get the conformation email sell off 8 slots. This could only be done though with the factorys help. I hope that this is not the practice as I think it is ethically wrong and would stop being a customer. But damn someone could make alot of money or knives this way.

I learned on the exchange that you get what you can when you can, no one is a dealer. If you can't beat them join them. The blade is out for 850.00 currently for gold or better members. Initial cost 615.00 + new shipping handling and insurance 20.00 + paypal fees 34 dollers= 669.00. So a 180.00 doller profit on a very rare low numbered one time offered blade. I don't think that is to unreasionable.:D

Micky,

Here is my take on this.
If you bought the knife simply to flip it for a profit then shame on you.
If you bought the knife and have now decided that you don't like it why not pass along the savings that Boss HOG intended and sell it for say $700
To insure that the new buyer doesn't flip it for profit and really wants a collectable put stipulations on the sale.
Getting all your maoney back and a small amount extra for your trouble is fine but to mark a knife up over 50% within a week of receiving it just sets wrong with me.
I watch all sales and sellers and won't do business with profiteers.
It's just not the HOG way.

Now about you comment:
"If you can't beat them join them".
Show your HOG ways and take the high road.
Be better than them and the good deed you do now will pay off ten fold.
