Do they or you collect patches? I ran across my patches and a LOT of memories. :) Pics coming soon, its going to be a full day tomorrow between church and the Super Bowl, but I'll try.

Some notables: 1976 special patches, lots of Jamboree stuff, Philmont fun!

I love this stuff!

hint, giving something away out of these treasures. :D

Very Cool! I was a Scout and was a charter rep for the Elks for several years. I had to quit when they griped about the long hikes and me carrying a knife. Still, lots of good memories from before that and I still use the "Whittling Chip" to teach kids about edged tools.

There is a whole sub-culture of patch collecting, like knife collecting. There are swap meets and pach-o-Rees at every session of summer camps I have been to. I am a scoutmaster and have been a scout 28 yrs.

I have forty-five years in the program.

Patches? More like an accretion than a collection, but lots of them - going back to 1954. They do trigger memories.

I volunteer at the local Scout museum. Lets me play with lots of old stuff.

I still have all of my patches and badges from my time as a scout in the early 60's.

Eagle Scout 1990 here. My nephew just was awarded his Eagle last weekend. Proud moment for the whole family. I have a few patches but you might find it hard to believe I was much more interested in collecting Boy Scout knives than patches.

Here are a few pics I had handy.

I was a Boy Scout. My son is now a First Class scout. I love spending the time outdoors with him.

I am an Eagle Scout. I still have a bunch of patches somewhere. I have been a scout leader for about 8 years now.

Good stuff. Some fond memories, and making more!

Wish I would have known that last year. Sold the entire collection and had many. Would have rather gifted to you.

I was an Eagle Scout, my son is 5 now. Really looking forward to him being old enough to participate in Scouts.

I was doing some research and a lot of Councils are gone now. :( The one I started in, and if I'm reading right, the last one I participated in are now gone.

I still see them all over the place around here though. :) The uniforms, though a bit different, are still at least uniforms. I remember no collar on the shirts and garters with tabs on the socks. :p

Im an Eagle scout. I have a 14yo that is a Life a 12yo that is a Star a 4yo who wants to be and my 4th boy due any day! Yeah we do scouts :D

I made it to the Star rank; then I discovered cars and girls. I did spend a lot of years as a scout though, and made it to Philmont. While not huge, I have a respectable patch collection I'd say. We were just looking at them a couple months ago when digging through an old box. Now my boy is in cub scouts and he is a first year Webelo. I don't have the time to be a den leader, but I manage to be the pack treasurer.

I went through the entire scouting program from Bobcat to Eagle. I lots of great memories and got to do a lot of things I wouldn't have been able to do without the program. One of my fondest memories from cub scouts was making and decorating a cake for the blue and gold dinner and cake action with my dad. We made an very detailed replica of my uniform shirt. Boy Scouts of course was my favorite. Lots of camping and hiking and then when I got older there came the really fun stuff. 50 milers, white water rafting, a weeklong horse trek, Order of the Arrow and of course Philmont. I aged out of the program in 1995 but I was able to be involved in a former brother-in-law's Eagle Scott project. I have daughter so no further Boy Scouts in my future but I do plan on passing on my love for the outdoors to her. And yes packed away I still have my uniform, t-shirts from various camps and the red coat with lots of patches. Plus a few patches that never made it onto a uniform to include one from Australia that I acquired at a patch trading event.

Have been a den leader since this past October.

I have a couple old scout knives and a small siver ring appears to be for infant or cub scout.

Brigham got his Eagle a little over a year ago.

I will post pics after church :)
