The one I ordered just arrived so I thought I'd shoot a photo so everyone could form their own opinion.
That does look nice...

...And the sheath is certainly distressed...

OK Goose, for you, I'll break out the camera and try to have more photos up in a couple of hours. Would you like another picture with me holding the knife while I'm standing on my head, with the knife in one hand and the sheath in the other?
Mike
OK...here are a few more photods showing the length and width of the knife compared to the 124...
Well Goose....I wouldn't hold your breath for a photo with me in a speedo. (that would likely get me kicked out of the BCCI for the lack of good taste)Dear Santa...
So far this year, I have been good.
For Christmas, I would like a Buck 916BRSBP and a picture of Five-0 Mike holding his Buck Bowie while standing on his head with the knife in one had and sheath in the other and wearing clothes...at least a Speedo.
Your's Truly...
Goose.
So, they distress the sheath by running over it with a tow motor... how'd they distress the handle... and why? I am sure it's a nice knife, but, thanks to the detail of the handle, it looks like the earlier problems with the similarly gripped 119 were repeated. Odd how a Kabar, Marbles, etc, for a fraction of the cost, too, can have such a more perfect stacked leather handle.
It worked - now I want a 124...

Thanks Mike for the pics. Convinced me to get one.
Arrived today![]()
I think Wilde Bill Cody is credited with the design. I've seen several different variations of limited edition knives from Buck on this basic design.So...250 of these, eh?...
Did BPS order 250 and have them sent to Wilde Bill???...Did Wilde Bill have them stacked up at his place, just waiting for him to get finished, and ship them all out at once???
...Or does he do 5 or 10 at a time, and ship them back to BPS???
How many years does it take to do 250??? Plus whatever else Wilde Bill is working on???...

Definitely a misprint.
She told the lady behind the counter we will take them both. I just love my wife, she is the best.
BPS is still listing the closed length on the CPM154 110 as 3 3/4".
OK, then substitute the Buck Custom Shop for Wilde Bill...So...Do they make them all at once, complete + sheath, boxed, ready to ship to BPS (as 334dave alluded to, during his plant tour)??? Or do they do them in lots, maybe 10 or 20 at a time, between the other special orders???
I'm curious as to how they divide/balance the time & resources required for this order (or any large order) against the normal day-to-day operation of the Custom Shop...(These knives obviously weren't done on the production line)...
