Hi Yall, new to the forum...just wondering if anyone could give me a quick comparison of these two knives. The bradley is quite a bit cheaper, and I've heard it's fit and finish is really good. How does it stack up to the sebbie?

Can't speak to the "Sebenza", as I don't own one, but I "edc" a Bradley "Alias I" and love it!! I think from what I've read here, and from others who've compared it, it is probably comparable in fit & finish to a "Sebenza", but I'm sure the "fans" will contest that :) IMO, for the $$$, I don't think the Bradley can be beat. It's half the price of the Sebenza, as well made, and equal to any job I'll ever ask of it.

I own an Alias I and handled a Sebenza a time or two. Between 'em I just prefer the Alias. It's a combination of awesome blade style and the sleekness of the frame that does it for me.

Thanks guys. I was reading somewhere that the bradley cutlery company or whatever wanted to produce a sebenza quality knife, and also be able to manufacture them quicker. Ok, now where to buy one:)

FYI Bradley doesn't manufacture any thing. Benchmade makes them. keepem sharp

This has been asked a lot.

If you got the money to spend, get the Sebenza.

If you want a cheaper copy of the Sebenza, get the Alias.

But copies are never as good as the reals now are they ;)

I've got the money to spend...just not sure the sebenza would really be all that better. They are both pretty knives that cut well. Yeah the sebenza probably has impeccable fit and finish, but it's a knife, not a show piece.

Having had both, I can honestly say the Sebenza's better. Is it twice as good, because it's twice as expensive? That's a good question.

If you don't have the money for the Seb., get an Alias, they are good knives. It's F&F is very good, but it's not a Sebenza.

Good luck with your choice.

The Alias is a better than average Benchmade, but it's not comparable to the Sebenza.

Don't get me wrong, I can totally see why the sebenza is probably more expensive. Smaller workshop, semi-custom...amazing f&f...easy to reassemble and clean.

I don't get the whole bradley/benchmade connection. Why don't they just stamp them benchmade? Or was benchmade trying to start a new line of higher end knives?

According to the website contact information, Bradley is located in Indiana
http://www.bradleycutlery.com/contact-us.cfm

It is my understanding that, like several other knife companies, the Bradley Cutlery company designed the knives and markets them, but hired another company to actually make them. However, instead of contracting with a Chinese or Japanese company like some others, they found a company in the US to make them.

Bradley was a guy who had a knife store & didn't like being back-ordered on Sebenzas. He felt he could make a "Sebenza" like knife, for much less. He contracted with Benchmade to make it (Not sure why, but that's who he got with). Bradley is its own line, made by Benchmade. It's not a new "higher end" line like ZT for Kershaw.

cooljoe......
I have both also, Both are nice. The Sebbie wins though for me.
IF you can afford it, get the Sebbie. If you can't, get the Bradley.

You'll be happy with it too... AND won't know what you are missing.....

.................unless you ever do get a Sebbie.

But when and if you ever do get one..... then, you'll know..... :)

I've used both, and I prefer the Sebenza as well. I think most of the people who have experience with both knives would agree with me, and it's not just the F&F. The Sebenza, to me, just handles better. It has greater balance and more useful, longer-lived blades.
I've known people who've carried the Sebenza for well over a decade now, with no significant changes in preference the whole time. The same could not be said of the Alias. IMHO, the only thing that should deter you from the Sebenza is its pricetag.

Then get yourself a CRKT S2, it's also a knife, not a show piece. Half of half the price of the Bradley too!

Matador-

Does the Bradley have the same blade bushing design as the Sebenza? If not, that is the difference. With a Sebenza you NEVER have to adjust blade tension, just tighten it and go.

I don't really like the Bradley look. It looks more like a normal BM than a Sebenza. The higher end Bradleys cost $400 too!

My "Alias I" didn't cost anywhere near $400. It cost $215 w/ shipping. And..........since when do you get a full size "Sebbie" for $400?? Unless I'm looking in the wrong place, I see them @ $500+. (??)

Your guys' internet must be defective and not show you everything. Geeze two or three clicks away on this same forum there's a seb for $330.
