Bradley Alias vs Sebenza?

i have no idea where you were looking to buy sebenza's for $500... but i got a plain jane bead blasted one brand new for $250

I own an "Alias I", am very happy with it, and I am not going to spend $500 for a "Sebenza". I just don't think they are that much better to justify the cost difference. I'm not interested in status, only a good, usable knife for the money.

Try as I might, I just can't see $200 plus difference in the two. Almost seems like the people that put out $400 to $500 for the Sebenza have to justify it somehow. I justify my choice because I bought the knife I LIKED, and the knife I could get the best use from & afford.

(p.s.- I think maybe the "Alias" vs "Sebenza" touched a nerve. I think each "camp" has their hard opinions, and aren't going to be budged) I LIKE MY CHOICE, and leave everyone else free to make their own choice. I wouldn't pay $500 for a knife, just as I wouldn't pay $50,000 for a car, because I don't need it! I won't try to change your mind, or belittle your choice, please pay me the same courtesy.

I have gotten more $$ difference than that in just use. I will say the Alias I and II are nice folders, they are NOT a Sebenza. Not even close. The best part of the Bradleys is the blade. Still, I look for the "complete package" and it ain't it! I now have 5 Sebbys and use them all. They feel the same everytime I use them. The Bradleys did not feel as solid from use to use.

If I could do it over again I would buy a Spyderco instead of the Bradleys I bought. Thought I liked them at the beginning but they changed my mind.

Hey Nathan Ihrke,

You wanna pass the love and share where you bought a new one for $250?
That, my friend is a BARGAIN!!!!:)

i bought mine at outlaw cigar in kc... got to know some of the guys there pretty well when trying to decide between an sng and a seb. must have gone in there 4-5 times in 2 weeks

Worth it? Many ask if the Sebenza is worth the extra cost. To them I ask is the Alias worth almost ten times the price of a Buck 110? Are you buying the Alias simply for status? Hum, the 110 costs more than a cheap utility knife, maybe buying a 110 is simply a status thing.

sebbies are functional art and worth every penny i own 3 and will eventually own another for edc when i can afford to.

Make the correct choice and get the alias...

I have an Alias and a Seb.

Both of them are usually to be found sitting in one of my knife drawers. They get the odd outing as part of "the rotation", but I soon get fed up with them and go back to carrying an Axis Lock Benchmade.

RazorD, do your 3 Sebbies just sit around on display then? Why would you need a 4th just to be able to EDC one?:p

Regards,

P.S. For the OP, who has now been banned but is probably still reading, get both, do the blade-swap thing and let us know how Sebenlias (or Alienza) works for you!:D;)

Wow! someone is replying to a 2+ year old Alias vs Sebenza thread... Sweet!!!

P/S had em both and sold em both and kept my Buck Mayo's... It's a world of preferences. There doesn't have to be a best...;)
