Matt,We did receive your 3 x 110 TRX. I will send you an email on how it was repaired and get them back in the mail today.
I love Buck service. I've been well treated by them with even their least expensive knives.Matt,
Thank you SO much! I just got the three TRX's back from you...Thanks for the lighting turn around time and the knives actions are like night and day from what they were. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! You received the knives on MONDAY 2/27/23 and the post office just delivered them back 20 minutes ago! AMAZING!
That sounds great, I need to send mine back. I was just trying to decide on how to measure the pressure so that i could have a true comparison of the result and to other 110's I have.Matt,

That would be interesting. It should be possible to measure the force required to release the lock by using a scale that holds peak weight, like the scale in Edge-On-Up sharpness testers, or an archery scale used to measure draw weight. I think the tricky part is figuring out how to hold the knife in a repeatable manner and make sure that the force is applied perpendicularly to both the lock bar and the scale.I was just trying to decide on how to measure the pressure so that i could have a true comparison of the result and to other 110's I have.
Ya. my first thought was something like a gator clamp but I know of nothing like that. So I was thinking a hanging scale (fish scale) while supporting the rear of 2" of the knife with a jig. Then looping the scale over the lock and pulling down till it unlocks. That would be interesting. Well folks, I dont think its just the TRX. I got these in the mail today and never have I ever had a 110 where I had to use some tool to squeeze the unlock bar to close the blade. One I could manage to close it with just fingers, but the other had to have a tool..
So i will work on them as you all suggested and as I have done to some in the past to make themView attachment 2104039one handed open/close.
I have loosened that screw on mine to the point there is a very obvious gap that can easily be pressed shut with your fingers and it did not lessen the tension on the lock!Pack Rat,
Here is the response I got from Buck after i send my three TRX's in for adjustment/repair/replacement. I hope it helps:
"Thank you for sending in your 110TRX’s...The arrow is pointing to the correct fastener to loosen if you would like to relieve some spring tension. I’m also sending a Torx T6 bit with your knives. There is a point where it becomes a safety issue if loosened to much. I have already adjusted them to where I felt it was safe and easier to operate.

Thank you for this. My 110 sport is a little tighter than I’d prefer. I’ll give this a tryPack Rat,

Hoping this isn't a sign of changes in customer service. I know I'm a Negative Nelly... is Mr Hubbard gone forever? Seems like Buck jumped the gun on this...Really....?
Is it a slow day there?
....or what?....
