Forget the #77. The #44 is at the top of my GEC list. Not sure if I like the brass for sure or not. I really wish they wouldn't stamp UN-X-LD on the rear bolster for the Northfields either. Any update when these will hit production Mike?

I'll be in for one of these, especially since they're in clip, for sure.

Lookin' forward to these, Mike!

No, they haven't released a schedule yet - just found them on the site.

Liked the original picture on their site better . I was not a big fan of Polishing my brass buckle when in the U.S. Army 57 to 59 years ago . I do like the stamping on the end bolster though . But it does not show it for the Stag but just on the brass . At least they do not show the Stag with the brass . That would be a catastrophe . I am looking forward to these . Like the pattern a lot . Thanks for bringing to our attention Mike .

That's too much brass...not a fan at all I'm afraid:( And I thought Northfield aspired at premium? Brass is not it...

But, the Tidioute is looking tempting:)
What did copper and zinc ever do to you? Kidding, of course. And I get the concept of the brass casing homage. But I'm with you; not my aesthetic cup 'o tea on a traditional.

Love the thread title, Mike!:thumbsup::D:D

But I don't have any experience with the gunstock pattern, and to me, it looks VERY weird. :confused:o_O What's the "functional rationale" for the gunstock pattern? Is it pure aesthetics? Is there an ergonomic advantage? Inquiring minds want to know!

Just as an aside. And this is neither here nor there, but if I imposed a "functional rationale" criterion on my acquisitions, I'd own about 10 knives and be over on some other forum right now. Just sayin'

I know exactly what you mean SaGN!:D But I'm asking just to try to learn some "history of the pattern".
(BTW, your Leadbelly (not Jimmie Rodgers ) signature and username are fantastic!:thumbsup::cool:)
