Brave New Cold Steel

I have higher hopes for cold steel than most I guess.....

I’m hoping this change in ownership will Produce some knives that don’t tear my pants off trying to remove it from my pocket (considering i could even get it in there in the first place) and Maybe some designs that appeal more to edc than ”tacticool” douche bags that think they’re some kind of cross between chuck norris and Bruce lee because they have an xl voyager (amazingly) in their pocket. (End rant)
...it almost sounds like you really don't want a Cold Steel knife at all.

For that matter, how do you know if a knife that is marked Made in Taiwan was actually made there? A while ago I bought a knife that was supposed to be made in Taiwan. The knife came directly from the "maker" in Taiwan according to the shipping labels. However, the knife packaging clearly indicated China as the origin of the knife despite claims otherwise. So, how do you know that some of these "Taiwan" knives are not being outsourced to PRC to cut cost, just as companies in the US and around the world are doing?

The official name of the country you are talking about is the Republic of China (as opposed to the People's Republic of China), Taiwan is simply the name of the largest island in the Republic of China. It's like referring to the United States of America as simply "America". That plus the "One China" policy that the U.S. and other nations follow probably explain why the word China ended up on your shipping label. I highly doubt Taiwanese companies are outsourcing to mainland China.

Your initial post leaves some room for interpretation, why don't you clarify?

And you want some guilty statement from me ?
:^)))))))

Try to think by yoursef for a moment
If still possible ...

Coming out the gate with insults, that always ends well... you might try using spell check as well.

....what? No offense, but most of the posts you've made in the past few days have been nonsensical. The point of the forum is to communicate with one another. I, and probably others here, have absolutely no idea what you are saying half the time.

Rationalize all you want but... no.....The shipping label clearly said Taiwan, not China, and the packaging clearly referred to Yangjiang in Guangdong province.....
Why wouldn't Taiwan outsource? One of the largest knife making centers in the world is practically right in their back yard. If there is a profit to be had, it would foolish to ignore that potential. Everybody else in the world is doing it, why not Taiwan?

What knife was it? Feel free to post pics of the paperwork and documents. You can black out our personal information. Someone will have further info with that.

We will see very soon how Brave New Cold Steel knives will be marked ...'

P.S. Checked moments ago
Cold Steel 8Cr13MoV Made in China
actually only 4 such novelties, but MUCH more to come
SR1 Lite, Mini Tac, Luzon 2x
...didn't all 4 of those enter production a few years ago? My hopes for CS maintaining their quality are somewhere between slim and none, but if you're basing this doom and gloom on models that significantly predate the sale of the company I would say this particular thread is Shakespearean, in that it's Much Ado About Nothing.

Yeah , move along people ...nothing new to see here !

Not sure what this has to do directly with Cold Steel ?

It's easy to take off the clip, and do a little light sanding so it slides in, and out of your pocket.

Cold Steel was the only company offering sturdy "tacticool" knives that actually functioned as advertised.
Some of us "douche bags" like to collect, and not necessarily carry these unusually large, awesome knives.
If you want a good "EDC" knife there are plenty of other companies that make great little knives.
Why would you want Cold Steel to turn into CRKT? We already have CRKT.

Shizuka noh Ken, AUS8 Holdout 1
I don’t want them to turn into CRKT.... I am just saying I would like them to broaden their horizons a bit (I am a fan of their edges and the strength of their lockup)..... also I know they are capable of making a clip that actually functions so it’s kind of crappy that we are having to mod it ourselves.

I don’t know, I guess I just like to carry and use my knives.... but if thats what you want to hang over the fire place, more power to ya.
