For those of you that have never been to Washington state, it's literally split in half by the Cascade Mtn range.

West side, rain, rain forest, very little snow, and green. East side (Wa/Id border) is mountainous, lots of pine trees, HOT in the summer, and lots of snow in the winter.

In between is whats called the "scab lands", or "Coulée country" created from the Missoula flood..... ohhh I don't know about a billion years ago.;)

I have been all over the Cascade Mtn range, and seen even more of the Idaho panhandle back woods, and western Montana, but ignored the dessert of Eastern Wa.

So I have three trips to this type of area this summer. VERY few trees, mainly sage brush and weeds. So with that in mind, a hatchet, or an axe isn't what I want to take along. My Fallkiven F1 would do just fine, but the Bravo 1 might even be better. Never know until you buy one right.:cool:

So far I've decimated some cardboard, sliced a few fuzz sticks, and generally fondled and cuddled the knife. Impressive.

The sheath (an extra, came with a kydex sheath) is equally impressive.

I figure with a SAK, Opinel saw, and the Bravo 1 I shouldn't miss my axe all that much....... but we'll see.:D

Nice, Tarmix! I've been drooling over many BRKT knives, and can't wait to get one, and one more, and another.....:D

nice pics. good to see that the SAK has had some loving with the sharpening stones...

is that the AAA mini mag or the AA version?

very nice sheath there, i really like the hook to hold the retention strap out of the way.

I generally do not like sheaths with retention straps becouse.... I cut them off.:grumpy: I like that feature as well.

Maglight is the AA version. Had it for a looooonnng time.

The old knives always get jealous of the fondling the new knives get! Great set up!

The B1 is a sweet knife. It has a lot of cutting power in a small package and will slice and dice, while still being able to be battoned through a log. At the moment it is in my top 3 fixed blades and sees a lot of work.

Word is BRKT is planning a shorter Bravo 1, and a longer Bravo 1, not sure of the names. Anybody have any further details? I am saving up now for the longer version, I gave my sis-in-law a Bravo 1, and want one for myself now.

That is exactly what I'm looking for. For the most part I carry a thinner blade, coupled with an axe.

This is going against my Fallkniven F1 (I love that knife) as far as my "go to" blade for conditions where I don't want to carry a axe.

I have used BRKT's A2 before, and I like it better than Fallkniven's VG-10. Marginal really, but it's just slightly better IMO.

I took it back out to the shop after dinner and cut up about 6 months worth of folded down boxes. did very well, but got a little sticky at the end.

A charged strop was all it took to bring it back to SCARY:eek: sharp.

I'm not a fan of straps holding the knife in either, but that Bravo-1 sheath looks very nice!! Certainly a step up from the Kydex with which it comes (though that's not a bad sheath either!)

cool pics...:thumbup: i really like that knife... :oi have wanted a bravo-1 for a long time now... i neeeeeeed to just break down and get one...

sweeeeet! Bravo-1 is a callin meeeeee! soon...soon :D

we gotta get tarmix a real torch! "tomorrows blades, yesterdays lights..."

Shorter = "Gunny"

Longer = "Bravo-2"

There's also rumors of a Bravo-1 in stainless, perhaps a bit thinner in the blade.

;)

I Have been looking at either a Bravo 1 or a Sandstorm for an all around woods knife.

I have found the sandstorms for alot better prices and in more handle materials but the bravo 1 seems to be calling me

PS where did that sheath come from?

If BRK&T does come out with a shorter one with a thinner blade and no thumb-ramp I'll be saving up my pennies. :D

Nice knife BTW!

Shorter, yes, thinnner, yes....but the thumb ramp stays, according to Mike Stewart of BRKT.

Mine...modded, but still looks close.
