I know buy both:D BUT funds and other gear will only allow for one at a time.... Is the Bravo1 more useable or is the extra length on the Bravo2 more worthy??

This will be for Bushcraft and general outdoor use...

shorter is better in my book but depends on what you also have, if you have just a folder then bigger may be better, if you have a machete, kukri, axe then small.

But also depends on what you will use it for, and how much stuff you have to carry, or if you are hopping in a car...

I think the Bravo -1 will do everything you want it to. I'd start with a B-1:)

Personally, I like the B-2 better.

If I’m going to use a blade that thick, I like a big blade.

Don’t get me wrong, they’re both savage slicing tools, I just like the big one better.

I would opt for the new Gunny over the B-1 anyday.

id up for the bravo1 it will do all ,and if you learn batoning :o it can do large stuff to. i just order the bravo2 and the gunny today. but as far as large goes for traps and fatwood, etc. for long periods of use if you go large you better spend lots of time building up your hand and control more blade = more reach to get you when you look else where. if you need a chopper you can get a coldsteel kukri for less than 20$ and they are tough enough to take chopping. just IMO get what you like and master it........

All I can say is that my smaller knives get a lot more use. That is for me anyway, if a job it to big for the Bravo one, then I will use a saw or ax. JMO. Sure, if you have plenty of money just order them both.

Bravo 1 is more useful/handy, make a knife too long and limits the dexterity for many tasks associated with survival/bushcraft (food prep, skin/leather work, woodcraft), pair it with a specialized tool like a saw or a machete or axe and you have a mighty combo. I had both and sold the B2. Wait for the Bravo 3 (i hope it is still coming out) coming out soon and it is going to be a nice camp knife/chopper. Also, personally I found the handle of the B2 not as good as the B1, the exposed metal tang section creates a hot spot during chopping and does not allow to grab it far back comfortably, have they used the same handle format I might have not sold it.

Hey dante, what is the Bravo-3?

I have never handled the B2, but I don't like the looks of it as well as the B1. Like dante, I don't like the exposed tang, for instance. Some like it better, though, like Big Mike. Once again, now, as always, "Whatever works for you!"

Yep, I'm guessing/hoping something along the lines the Hudson Bay Camper (8").

The big difference between the Hudson Bay and the bigger Bravo’s will be that the HB is a modern copy of a classic pattern (and it’s a great user, I might add).

The Bravo’s are a truly modern design, think Ka-Bar’s for the new millennium.

As a big camp knife I really like the 9” Bay de Noc, kind of the best of old school meets skeletonized tang high tech; a well balance and savage tool.

I agree, the B2 is more like a military knife (jack of all trades), makes sense, the B1 is a military designed/inspired blade although for survival. The B3 should be a like a bush knife, good enough for chopping but versatile like a small machete, have not tried the Bay de Noc but looks good and more agile than the HB.

I've been eyeing a bravo-1 for a while now, the other one would be the Koster bushcraft in 3V.

Ugh man, I love the look of those knives.

I like the Bravo 1 better--and the Bravo 1SS even better than that! :)

BUT--I think the Gunny is the one that will get the most use around here!

Fonly, it seems like we do have similar tastes - I've got a Koster Bushcraft coming my way with this next production run. :) Regarding your lusting over a B1, send me an email...I have a standard B1 I could let you play around with, to help you decide.

To the OP, for general outdoor use, I'd vote for the B1 as well, although I don't think you could go wrong with either a B2 or Gunny instead. Since you're already resigned to the fact that you'll buy both :D....I'd say start with the basic B1, simply because it's the basis for the other models . It'll give you a baseline.

I appreciate all the input fellas:thumbup:. I am leaning towards the Bravo1, but Big Mike's pic of the Bay De Noc did NOT help. I really like the looks of that beast!! So many Barkies and so few dollars...:D
