Bravo Necker?

Wow! Maybe I was thinking of the early serialized models...I thought I read somewhere that they were going for around $130 or $140.

Hey everyone! I missed this thread somehow.

The coating on the handle of the knife was indeed done to control costs. The secret is that it is always done to control costs. Finishing all of the steel is expensive.

The sheath is really nice--works with or without handles.

As to cost....it is a Bark River Knife. Even with scales, it is dead even with the cost of other BRK knives with similar specs. It won't be for everyone. For those who buy it, I am confident they will be very pleased. I sell the IZULA for $20 cheaper. If cost is a major issue, by all means, buy the RC knife. The RAT guys do a great job. I love my IZULA and highly recommend them. I will also give my nod to the BRK necker. They are different knives, different companies. I like both.

We are the exclusive distributor for these knives, so I had say in the design. When we were making the handle sets, we opted to go more expensive so we could have both sides of the handles CNC'd. These sets fit perfectly in the handle. They will not move.

The blade is convex. There are lovers and haters of convex. BUT if you are a Bark River guy, you have to appreciate convex. It was the only real option. :)

That is my .02 worth. If you want my input with scales, it is .03 worth.

Just ordered mine- red with red & black linen micarta scales. The killer combo- y'all are out of luck- I got the last of the red & black micarta.:p

such a nice neck knife. Too bad it's too pricey.
I do dig the stainless. Though, optimally, they should have made it available in A2.

Thanks Derrick, good info on the scales too...probably be picking one up from you by year's end :)

i thought the Gunny was the 3rd. or was the Gunny the prequel ? :D

:thumbup:Prequel, excatly... well said brother:D:D

Hey Longknife3, what is the Bravo 3?

Doc

Doc,
On another forum Mike Stewart said if he can get his hands on enough 3V, the Bravo 3 will be a reality. Reports say it will sport a 12" blade that is 2" wide. This one will be a chopper and slasher. I am passing up a bunch of knives to keep funds ready for this one....

Yes, the sheath works with or without the scales.

This is great news! I would hate to have to spend forty on the scales and then come out of pocket for a new sheath. Out of all the neckers that are out there I really do like the looks of this one.
