Breaking Blade news...no BS

I'll definitely be on board for one. I've never used d2 but I trust Ethan and Becker enough to give it a shot.

Must be the material change Toooj was talking about.

Sounds fun. Will it be coated? Also, any other announcements from either Becker or KaBar?

Thanks for the heads up, Grey. That will have to be something to take a look at. I appreciate your keeping us "homebodies" in the loop :P

Thanks for the 411!

At first, I felt a little flat about this. It is exciting to see another new product introduced and hopefully available this year. I just guess it's easy to get all hyped up with the anticipation that something big might get brought back to production. But after thinking about for a minute, the 14 does make a nice fixed blade EDC so a D2 version would actually be pretty cool if their is a performance improvement and the price isn't too out there.

I have had a couple D2 blades and honestly I was not impressed with them either.. I will stick with the 1095!!

*yawn*

I'll stick with 1095. I'm sure there is a good reason/use, but not for me.

This is like opening a bag of chips and finding its only like 1/3 full... Good but not great. I'd like S30V or something stainless so I can use it around water without really having to worry and clean it as much but ok...Maybe if all the other beckers are cancelled and dissapear I'll get one but meh :(... Sorry guys, I'm not being negative or a troll, its just my opinion.

If it's going to cost more than the 1095 BK14, I'll pass. Now where's my bk6!

S30V BK14...now THAT I would buy a couple of! Maybe, I love the 14s just the way they are though

Can't wait for this knife. I trust them to do D2 right. Its got good toughness, plenty of corrosion resistance compared to 1095 and wear resistance for days. For me its as difficult/easy to sharpen as S30V.

I have never had a bad experience with D2 and it will always be a good steel choice for a knife that may see some tough use.

I would prefer a 16 in D2, that stuff behaves like carbon yet has crazy resistance to rust. Maybe a 2 too in it.

I would just prefer a new model, or a re-release of an old one, aka Reinhardt.
