Breaking locks on these many famous knives-GREAT INFO..!!

Well, the CRKT KFF has a hefty liner bar, but it would still behave like a regular liner lock in this sort of situation. The LAWKS prevents user-disengagement of the lock, but it doesn't prevent the bar from bending the other way which would lead to blade play and other nasties.

I think it would be stronger than the M16, though.

I had a $50 parking ticket the other day - that was no fun. What Frank has done sounds fun to me.
I like unscientific testing. The sacrificed knives were not destroyed in vain. That the results prove little doesn't matter too much as it scares the living daylights out of the manufacturers. This is the stuff that keeps them on their toes. Non of the knives failed because they were useless, but some withstood the abuse better.

Thank you for sharing your findings with us. My knives have gone into hiding in case of an AKA attack.

If the same force had been used laterally would you have destroyed/bent the knives faster/less force? If so then how much emphasis should we place on the importance of in line failure of the lock? They only need to be tough enough, and if that is a lot tougher than what the blade can take crow barring, then that is not too bad in my book. Just a thought.

Jolts, jarring and knocks that throw the lock out are the things that scare me.
