Bring back Blues to the Folksy Forum...

I am with you guys. I dearly miss Rob and Elliott here, but understand why they have taken a break.

I don't post in here very often but I do lurk a lot and I enjoy reading many of the posts and I certainly enjoy looking at the pictures of fine traditional knives. I would very much like to see Rob return, I hope he feels free to do that soon and I have also enjoyed reading Elliot's posts.

I'm with the rest of you. I miss seeing those two fellas around here.

I indeed miss both Rob and Elliott, but I know they'll be back some day.
Lest we forget, a lot of a$$holes have been erased from the record here because of Elliott's vigilance, and it's a better forum because of it.
It is admirable to see a job so well done! I have never seen our moderators interfere with thoughtful, reasonable discussion, nor thoughtful good humor!!

Here's to the quick return of a couple of folksy folks that make our corner of the traditional world a much better place.

They are both two of the good guys. I've been takeing a kind of break myself. Is there a link or thread telling what happened or why they are not around in the forum?

Whatever the rights and wrongs of what happened in the past...it is in the past, we have moved on... so it's a shame to lose two darn good men from our fold.
I hope they return as soon as possible.

I think we should have a no fault reconciliation and move on. Nobody is benefiting from all this. We are shooting ourselves in the foot. Elliot was the most on the ball mod, that we have ever had. It would be a shame to lose him over some bs.

Maybe we could do a Traditional Members vote and vote him back.

God Bless

I remember a very long time ago, we had a similar-feeling subforum over on KF. Trolls showed up, the two best mods threw up their hands and walked away, and 5 years-plus later, it's a shadow of the old days.

I'm not going to ask for a return before they're both ready. I merely hope at some point we can all clear the air and move forward.

I have no idea what happened with Blues, but I figured out the part with Thomason.

A lot of times it's what people don't say that tells the story whether the subject is knives or something else.

Everyone probably wants meaningful, thoughtful, knife conversation. A little less diligence would be nice:)

Good folks, I just wanted to thank you all for your comments. My intent with this thread is really not to question Elliott's or Rob's reasoning for any choices they make. Nor was my intent to revisit or rehash opinions as to why my friends are taking a well earned break from their usual activity here.

I think Ken Erickson said what I wanted to say best, which was just intended to let people know when they are missed.

Quoted from Ken's post #15 earlier:

"I also miss both Elliott and Rob's participation on a regular basis here in this forum. While understanding the reasons why, I being selfish, miss and look forward to the time when we see more posts again by both of these guys.

Its also very nice to see new interest here and the continuing posts by old familiar names"

I wish you all a pleasant Easter and a beautiful Spring day as we are having here in NW RcanSaw. :)

email sent.
Thanks, but that Email address for me I cann't get in right now. If you or anyone else would be so kind I can be reached at dbtoe@hotmail.com
Thanks to anyone that can clue me in on all of this. I've known Blues since before BFC was even around and I'd say I'm more than a little puzzled by this.

My thoughts goes the same way. This isnt the biggest of communitys so when dear members is away it goes not unmarked.

the forum is definitely a leaner menu since elliot took a break . however as in all non-static discussions we are always somewhat in a flux situation & can only hope that interest in our forum will continue to grow & perhaps other great personalities can evolve to guide these discussions . of course we can hope the older dynamic personalities will return.

What we need is a good off-topic diversion to draw E out in the open so we can nab him and do an intervention. ;)

You'll never get me, copper!!! Never!!!

Intervention!?!? Good lord, I thought this was the traditional forum not some new age, politically correct, desperate housewives chat-room.:p;)

Anyway, thanks for the kind thoughts to those who have expressed or thunk them.

I'm still around, reading threads that capture my attention and responding when the urge strikes.

You guys are doing just fine as is and I'm always available to my friends via email or PM.

(Plus, I still have my super moderator cape and uniform though I'm getting to that age where it doesn't fit like it used to. :p)
