BRING BACK THE BIRD DOG LE

I had honestly forgotten its name. My dad and I have used it processing a lot of deer over the years. Old school Chuddy Bear Leather too! When I handled it earlier today I honestly thought, "Busse should re-release this in Elmax" as was posted above. :thumbsup:

I'd love them in Elmax. I've had a couple folders in Elmax and they've been fantastic.

XHP would be fine too!
 
I wouldn’t be opposed to either of these being in INFI or Elmax as long as they are thin and light like the original, however I’ve always liked 154cm and I suspect it’s cheaper than the other two options
 
Thin and light is great for processing birds (what I'd use mine for)!

I'd prefer Elmax over 154cm, but honestly, if the price point wool be significantly different, any of these modern steels with good heat treat will do just fine!

I agree, I wouldn’t scoff at any stainless with a good reputation or INFI

Yeah 154CM has got to be cheaper than ELMAX. Since Busse is making the INFI, wouldn't that be the cheapest for them to use? Idk I'm just guesstimating.
 
The BD is a wonderful knife but mine is now buried in the bottom of a drawer somewhere, the elmax steak knife is really hard to beat as a game processing knife, but a BD in elmax would be a must have. Personally the knife that would be beyond amazing for processing game would be a safari skinner in elmax, personal grail knife that will be mine one day!

I’ve had a scrapmax 460 and a 3.5” steak for a couple years now and haven’t used either, maybe it’s time to knock the dust off them but I’d still love for the bird dog and wiener dog to come back
 
I'm all game for anorexic BD/WD in ELMAX or SR101. These things will be KILLER good on the birds!
 
Stainless would be nice, but at this point, I'd rather have one in anything than not :D
I would force a patina on the SR101 and call it good. Try to keep it as clean as I can after I use them - which I do with all my knives anyways.
 
Still dreaming about this as I'm getting my stuff ready for the coming bird season! Just got a new strap vest... Can't wait to put it to use!
