I'd be all over an Elmax MBC--especially if the blade length, thickness, and shape stayed the same as the original--but maybe another 1/2" was added to the handle. More Micarta/G-10 scale options would be great, too.

Trukreltrog's post with the comparison shot should answer your question. I think.

Overall they are about the same length, but the MBC is more narrow. IMO the SAR3 could be a better survival or camping/hiking EDC, but the MBC is a better overall EDC for daily tasks around the house, office, etc. I consider it a fixed blade pocket knife, and the best at that.

Little smaller, shorter blade, and the MBC doesn't have a huge talon hole in the way. Don't really like it on the SAR3, I might have to get rid of it,,,

The pork shank is a great knife. It was my very first busse and the start to my addiction. I do not believe I could ever part with it.
