Thank you. I sent the pictures. I emailed Jerry about it and he said it was very rare. I then wanted to share it.

That's a beauty, congrats. Is it a recent score that you stumbled on to, or an old purchase and you have just now found your way here?

Recent. I was looking on Ebay one day a while back and it popped up late on a Sunday with a BIN and I snapped it up. My understanding it was part of an estate and the owner purchased new from Busse in the 90's.

Steven65,
That is a very nice looking SHBM! Ban does some amazing work – I had heard he was not doing this type of work anymore, but maybe he only chooses to do certain ones. Thank you for sharing; feel free to post some more photos of it – I would love to see them.

Blueoak,
Wow, that is a beauty! Thank you for sharing. You might be bombarded with offers to buy it; if you decide to sell, do not let it go cheap. As Jerry said, that is a rare one (probably more so than I realize). That is likely one of the best finds ever on eBay!

Cobalt,
I'm not sure I have ever seen a SHBM with that old logo (unless it was one from your collection :)). Out of curiosity, what is an approximate value for an old SHBM like that? I know the market is somewhat depressed now from the peak years ago, but I would guess in the neighborhood of $1500-$2000, maybe more – is that about right? Thanks for posting the photos, and any info you have on the rarity of these.

Just read this whole thread... Late to the friggin party. :grumpy:
Looks like everybody came out to play... Event Stinky!!!

I wanna play!!! Can I, huh... Can I huh??

I would say that !400-2000 is a good guess depending on the time. If Busses loose interest or if people are not interested values can be lower. I don't think anyone who likes SHBM's would turn this one down for $1500. At closer to $2k it would be a little tougher. AS for the knife itself. This one seems to have a mix of logos. This is the exact same knife as Skunks #500 except it doesn't have as distinct a swedge. It could be the views that make it look like less of a swedge. Which proves the point that #500 is actually earlier than many of the lower numbered knives as I had thought. As for logos, Jerry was all over the place with those. There was no standard for logos and I know for fact of at least one LE with no logo or number.

It has a pretty good swedge grind, it is my crappy photos. I will try to get some better pictures later this week. I have business tomorrow so maybe Thur or Friday.
