BRKT Bravo 1

I just bought a Bravo too.

Of the knives I have in that size range, the ESEE-4 handle to blade length isn't quite right, the ESEE-5 is WAY too thick for me, I have a Landi MPM that isn't quite right to my hand, a Gerber LMF is, well, a Gerber LMF and a BM Nimravus thats kinda thin and seems more fighter-ish to me so it lives with my battle rattle gear.

I think the Bravo is a perfect compromise of all the features I want in a belt knife.

As long as we're sharing... :D

Great knives. I have two of them and a Gunny which is the smaller version. It is my "go to" fixed blade.

First off, don't take this as a knock on the Bravo One. There is a old saying about the 30-06 rifle, Great all around rifle, However there is a equal number of hunters who say that the 30-06 is to big for deer size game and to small for elk and bigger game. So is it great or worthless?

That is about the way I look at the Bravo one. I have owned two of them, although I don't have one right now. The Bravo One, to me is to thick to be a good slicer, too short for a chopper, to heavy for a light backup. I can't quite find the niche where it really fits in. Maybe a Heavy duty hunter. I find that anything the Bravo can do, another BR will do better. I replaced my Bravo One with a Gunny which I find much better suited for My own use.

That said, Will I get another Bravo One? Not until I get to try a Bravo Two.:)

My thoughts exactly. I know that I am in a VERY small majority but I had two and got rid of them both promptly. In my opinion, the bravo 1 was so thickly convexed that the only thing it did well was split kindling. Not my favorite knife by a long shot. I did not see it as a good slicer at all. I know thousands disagree and that's okay.

I am on my third! I love them. I also have 2 gunny's...really great knife also. The Bravo2 didnt do it for me at all.

I am thinking of selling off a bunch of blades in my quest for "the one" and the Bravo1 is on the short list, along with a Manitou and a Gameskeeper.

The Bravo-1 was my first love. The handles were truly the best I'd ever handled up to that point. After getting a Gunny (rampless), I eventually sold both of my Bravo-1s (one A2 stock, one SS w/ thumbramp removed). I would love to see a Bravo-1 in the Gunny's thickness. That would be a great knife for me. I might pick up another B1 down the line though, it really was a great knife....

Since we're contributing pron :D

Here's an old pic.

I have to say that the Bravo-1 is one of my favorite knives. It's a do all knife for me.

I kinda like the idea of a thinner-bladed Bravo (bigger Gunny) as well.
Wouldn't mind a finger choil either. :)

I'd like a slightly thinner bladed Bravo-1 also as an option, but I like it the way it is. Its the only knife in which I have two. I like the fact that it does not have a choil.

I understand. I sometimes like using the forefinger on the spine tip for fine work, that's why I like it. Of course, you always sacrifice some blade length in the process.

OH, ...no wonder you sold me your Montana Guide so cheaply. :foot:
