Way to go Tooj. Man you guys are stellar. I have broken 3 Kabars in the same way. It did take about 8 yrs to get all of them broke though. I never once thought of it as a design flaw though. Granted the 90 degree angle where the tang meets the blade is the culprit, but all 3 of mine took some hella abuse before they let go. The last one was kinda funny, on a Friday, I went by SMKW and picked up 2 Kabars, one for me and my friend (never owned one). The next night, I was splitting some Oak to go in my stove, and it let loose, the blade flew out of the wood forward, hit the wall, and bounced. It ended up in my left thigh, about 4" above the knee. I was kneeling. I just kinda looked at it for a minute, pulled it out, clapped a hand over the hole, and limped off to the Aid station (bathroom). Once I was patched, I collected the pieces, got my new Kabar and finished the wood for the stove. The Kabar in question had batoned every piece of wood that I put in my stove for 3 winters. I figured, it found out I got a new Kabar, felt it was time to retire, and wanted to make sure it would never be forgotten. God I love Kabars. Beckers. ESEEs. Moose
