Broke my Ka-Bar... need a replacement camp knife.

Ka-bar has always been tops with me. Never an issue. Heck I even caught my father batoning my Warthog thru some firewood.... with a hammer(talk about stress testing). I can laugh now after the fact. LOL... still no problems. He's my dad. What can I say?

"When in doubt, get your Ka-Bar out."

Don't let one break ruin you on a long-standing tradition of an awesome knife, I trust my life to this knife, chances are if it broke it'd probably do the job all the same. Those Becker knives seem like a great build too, I'm sure one of those would hold up even better to batoning than the standard F/U.

BK-7. It's more or less the same knife but beefier, full tangier and full of Becker goodness. It's good stuff.

I belted the cr@p out of my BK-7 with a baton and it didn't break - in fact I would VERY surprised if it ever broke while batoning.

It took the bark of the baton:

But it never quit:

BK-7 = well made knife capable of handling any camp chores required. More than tough enough IMO.

the 90 degree angle where the tang meets the blade is the culprit

1st let me say that as a Marine, the love of this knife is in my DNA, but why not fix this issue with this knife ?
That said, I'll still buy them no matter. It's THE KABAR afterall !!

Becker BK5 has been talking to me lately, finally got my ka-bar heavy bowie so it might be next in line.

Considering what you get for your hard earned dollars, the Becker BK-2 may be the best value as a tough as nails camp\wood procesor.
