the gash in the handle happend about 2 years ago, I couldnt get it unstuck so I used a un-approved method to extract it INFI is some tough steel.

Again, this is one of those incidents that reminds us why it's alright to spend what we do on a Busse. You get to beat the livin' crap out of it and they fix it for the price of postage. Freakin' Incredible!

None of my Busses look anything like that. Why, I sometimes have trouble wearing the coating away.

BTW, do you beat on your Suby as much as your knives? I have a slightly modified 2005 Subaru STi (CGM/Wingless) ... it has 86,0000 hard miles on it now and still runs like a champ. Fun ride.

I haven't given up on doing it myself.

It's just that somehow I'm not as good at it as I used to be.

Looks like something a steel hammer would do. I've got similar marks on some of my Ka-Bars that I beat on with a hammer for the hell of it
