broken game warden

I can't find any logic in breaking a knife on purpose only to get it replaced. You're just going to get the same knife again. No one is being taken advantage of. Besides, if you don't like the knife, you're not going to break it to get shop credit. Nine times out of ten you can sell your user for more than the original cost. It doesn't make sense to think people do it on purpose. Jerry made and stands by his warranty for a reason. He wants everyone to have fun while using their knives. When we get a new knife, deep down inside, we want to go out and destroy the world. If our knife breaks while trying to reach our goal, Jerry will more than gladly replace it and tell you to keep up the good work.

(I broke my SK. I didn't want to. I put a lot of work in my attempt of a satin finish. I don't know how many of you have tried that, but the ones who have know that you aren't just going to throw that progress away.)

Well put.

It's all about a balance. Part of the reason why Busse has such a cult like following (yes I'm an Acolyte) is the knowledge of your knife being recognized as such a rugged/dependable/high performing tool that it's got the incredible Busse guarantee that backs it up to the grave if necessary and puts a new piece of INFI in your hand. I feel no hesitation to use the hell out of a Busse and use it with a confidence that I don't have in other knives. That's something you can't put a price on. Because of that feeling (along with the obvious aesthetics, ergonomics, quality, performance, class of the people behind the company and instinctual appeal of it's product) I buy/trade for many Busses and I know other's are the same way for the same reasons.

Busse wouldn't be so big if not for how they back up their product and the way they strive for excellence/perfection with every blade. If this knive was just another: "Guaranteed against any manufacturing defect for 90 days" type thing they wouldn't have the hype/appeal they now hold.

Busse wouldn't be making the money they do if this was the case....replacing a couple blades could NEVER balance out the fanatical following they have. They can't keep knives on their tables at shows and make to order (while filling GInormous orders) who else can really say that in the production/semi production knife world?

Who can doubt the good PR of someone showing a knife that was obviously abused/misused and was of the highest quality with NO defects and shortly after his initial post seeing the owner/founder/namesake of the company show up and tell him "I'll take care of you."???? That's that good S#$% man!

Well said, pbubsy. And everytime Jerry comes out and replaces one of these, he gains MORE customers. He can't lose with that kind of service.

Busse forever.

You know I was pretty happy slicing up some apples... but now that you mention it...

I must have missed this thread the first time around as we were headed down to Blade.

Skunk, were there really only 24 Orange Wardens? Hard to believe......

Surely, Skunk was joking. I had a couple and sold one to a guy overseas, being the international INFI pimp that I am.

Weird this came up. My son is always talking about about the things he'll get to do "when I grow up." He knows I have knives set aside for him when he gets quite a bit older, and this morning, I told him I had a camping knife for him when he gets to be 12 or so (we have nine more years of this conversation to go). I was talking about a GW. I asked him if he'd rather have a black handle or an orange handle, and he immediately said, "orange, so I can cut cheese!" :D

He was remembering this picture, I think, even though the GW isn't orange:

I am again impressed by the quality of knives (and people) at Busse. I'm not a soldier or a construction worker or anything like that, but when I go into the field I often am only able to have a knife along (silly government rules) and I know I feel VERY secure with my Hell Razor or any other of my Busse knives along. Knowing the integrity of the company and the toughness of the blades, this is one girl who goes out feeling pretty secure in her choice of tools! :D

Besides, you guys here on the Forum are a great bunch to be around!

A girl needs a knife...
