Broken (steel) hearted

I do believe you should have contacted Jerry directly at teh shop or via e-mail. He has posted his direct e-mail here many times.

The way you presented this really makes me question your intent in airing this.

I suggest you call the shop Monday morning.

I'm locking down this thread.

I am unlocking this thread for the sake of open discussion. I do appreciate the folks that pointed out that it would have been nice for me to know what happened and to have been given the opportunity to correct it before a public spanking, but in the end, all that really matters is that the customer gets taken care of to their expected degree of satisfaction.

MVF,

I have no idea why your knife was disengaged from its packaging or box. At this point it is all speculation. As for you running the risk of being out $400.00, this NEVER would have happened. . .. NEVER! Please email me directly at jerry@bussecombat.com and I will be sure to see that you are taken care of. I will personally oversee the sharpening of your blade and have it returned to you promptly. We are currently running 3 shifts, 7 days a week and are simply overwhelmed by the mass of orders that we are dealing with at this time. Many military orders are getting priority and thus pushing our civilian orders back a bit at this time. Still, there is no reason for any customer to go unsatisfied. I have always and will always do whatever it takes to satisfy our customers. I am not aware of the specifics of your knife's history but will certainly make it right. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks,

Jerry

Just let me say, I did not reply on this thread until now because based on experience and reading on this forum............The Man Did What He Does, that's making the best blades and backing them up. Jerry's customer service and attitude are so far above anything I've seen elsewhere. Anyone else in business should take note.

That is why I am here.

Now Jerry, Can you add a fourth shift so we can get to the HOFBM ?

Jerry,

First off, I apologize if you found my posting this here offensive or in bad judgement (as so many here do!)- it was not meant as an attack. This forum is such an obvious fan club and has such a "family" feel to it that I did not think posting here was really "going public". To further illustrate this, I am enclosing the text of an email I sent to Thatmguy after he locked the thread-

Hi Thatmguy,

I am MVF on Blade Forums. I am writing to ask you to re-open the Broken hearted thread. To me, closing it without allowing Jerry to reply really does make it look like I am just slamming him. That was never my intention. I would have loved to discuss this with Jerry, but I don't have his email address or phone number. The last email I sent to the customer service email address on the Busse site went completely unanswered.
I saw this as my way to communicate these problems to Jerry. Yes- everyone else gets to see it also- but everyone here is a Busse fan (obvious from the response). Again, I would like to point out that I posted here and not on the general forums or even the complaint forum. They would also get to see Jerry's reply if the thread was still open.
I am open to the criticism that I should have contacted Jerry first- nobody's perfect, and I am willing to accept the beating I am taking on this thread to allow Jerry's reply to be seen. If Jerry thinks I owe him an apology, he will get it- in public on any thread or forum of his choosing. If you wish, I will (or you may) post this letter, as well.
I may have been wrong, but my intent was not malicious. I really think it only fair to let Jerry reply. Perhaps someone could ask him his preference?

Thanks for your time,
Mike

Secondly, thank you for your offer to take care of this. I have accomplished my aim- which was to make you aware of the problem. The owner of a business (especially a fast growing one) has no way to know everything that is happening in his organization without feedback. I respect what you have done and are doing or I would not have bothered with all this.

To everyone else- If you all respect Jerry as much as you say you do, why all the fuss? You knew he would take care of this, and I think doing it in public like this only helps the Busse image even more.

Cliff and Cobalt- Thanks for "getting it"

all is well!!!

Well I 'm glad this was resolved, and Jerry    There is one little question I have. As far as I can figure out MVF, both parts of your two part post was posted today - Sunday - there's no mail on Sunday. I assume you must have known that your knife wasn't lost when you made your first post. If so - why didn't you just say so? what was the purpose of making it a two part post? I can't help but feel played. I apologize ahead of time if my understanding of what happened is off.

Leatherbird- sorry, no info was available about how the knife was found.

Metallicat- You're right- this happened yesterday. I was trying to make sure I didn't post anything out of line, so I slept on it (guess I need more sleep, huh?) As for the split post, two reasons- I thought the people here would appreciate it, so I wanted to share the experience, and the post was getting too long. I should have had part two written up ahead of time so there wasn't so much delay, so I apologize for that.

Whew,,,,I am just glad this is resolved and am sure a renewed awareness went to the shipping dept.

I was starting to get fearful for my first Busse! Placed the order for a Hell Razor today.

Thanks Jerry!!!

Well you know I work for the PO so I am always drinking. After I took the SH out of the box and kept it, this guy had to post it here and make it known so I had to go give it back. My boss was understanding though.

why is that girl wearing her buns on her chest?:jerkit:
