Any one have a pre-order for the mini-division flipper by Jason Brous or happen to see/handle one at SHOT? What are your thoughts?

I have pre-ordered one and can't wait to get it in my hands. Personally I love the looks and materials. It seems he has a reputation for quality blades, but controversial designs and attitude. I'm hoping that the quality is true and the controversy fades because this knife looks awesome.

I wish he would have used carbon fiber instead of G10, but I might end up buying one of these anyways. Just wish I could handle one first.

I like the big version and the mini is a little different with materials which kind of interests me. I might check it out, good price points for the quality he delivers.

Hope the flipper action on the new Mini-Division is more like the T4 than Division, Reloader and Bionic which I also have. I cannot praise the T4 enough. Was it the co-designer Jason Moriel-Riboloff who came up with the smooth and reliable flipper action?

The T-4 is the best flipper I have handled this side of an RJ. I honestly couldn't believe it; it flips better than my Bodega, in my opinion.

I am also hoping that the new mini-Division has similar action. I thought the original was quite good for his first real flipper. Haven't had a chance to handle either the Reloader or Bionic.

I think Jason provides a lot of value for the dollar in his products. It is hard to find the kind of quality in something like the T-4 for less than 4-500$.

There's a T4 Carbon Fiber coming out which I'm looking forward to as long as the flipper action is the same as the T4 G-10. Sure is sweet! Additionally, Brous needs to expand beyond just D2 for everything!

I have a Division flipper and it's a monster. I'd pick up this mini if offered in carbon fiber...his cf scales are beautiful! G-10 is just not my cup of tea. His T4 has a better flipper action? Wow...that's impressive. I'm all sad now, it's sold out.

In my communications with him, Jason indicates that he'll be offering S35VN in the future which I'm excited to see!

Jason uses a proprietary bearing system which is indeed impressive. Google Brous T4 review and you'll find mine:

I've got a Mini-Division pre-ordered. I'm hoping it will be easier to EDC than the T4, which I generally only carry on the weekends.

Please let us know if the flipper action of the new Mini-Division flipper is as good as the one on the T4. The T4 flipper action is far superior to the ones in my Division, Reloader and Bionic. Night & Day!

That's interesting. Jim Skelton did a video review of the Division prototype and claimed it flipped better than his Bodega.

Supposedly the new Mini-Division ships in February.

Can you take pictures of the T4 pivot? I only have a couple of Bionics, but the bearings appear identical to some of my other bearing knives. What does he do differently with the bearings?

I love my reloader. I've been eyeballing the division but I have been hesitant because of its size. The carry laws here indicate 3 inch or smaller and while most of mine aren't, they are only a little bigger. Not an inch and a half bigger. So I may pick one up now. I do agree with most of you that I wish it was in cf and not g10

I got to handle a Mini Division Saturday at a local shop and it definately had the quality I've seen from Brous. Fit and finish was top notch and the flipping action was buttery smooth. I was all for a Mini Division but just don't care for G10 so passed.

I might cry if I could get a T-4 in CF and s35vn. There is literally only one thing I don't like overmuch on the T-4 and that is the clip. I find the pen style clip has too much retention. It either needs a lanyard post/hole or a different clip to facilitate easier draw. But, really, if the clip is the only problem on a knife that is kinda first-world problems there...

I believe Jason's bearings are very similar to Gus Ceccini's of GTC knives. Caged bearing of some sort, but I haven't tried to open mine up. It seems to me that his flippers have gotten progressively better overall (and they started out damned good), so I'm looking forward to the mini-Division quite a bit.

For those that aren't G-10 fans, Jason will definitely do custom scalework, but it isn't cheap and will add a good deal of wait time. It may well be worth it, though. My buddy Matt has a Division with wood scales that is freaking beautiful. I want to say he paid about $650 or so for it.

T4 in CF is coming (see minute 3:35 of video) and he'll be producing a second run of 500 pieces of the T4 G-10.

Just made the final payment on my mini-division and it should be shipping soon! I'm getting that anxious new knife feeling again...:)
